As I spoilt my own LLM fun with Northwich Vics by interpreting the SWYCT guideline a bit too freely in my own opinion - D'oh! :o - I decided to start my very very last CM3 game in Russia.
Khimki is, according to the sparse information on the web that isn't in Russian, a small town to the northwest of Moscow (it looks more like a dreary suburbian part of Moscow on the map, tbh).
They start with no money, a wage- and maintenance-bill that drags the club down by an odd million Euros per annum and the usual sparse staff, shïte players and tiny stadium.
My scouts have the options of going to find talent in Russia, Poland or Croatia.
So by now, after playing one season, I have employed a staggering three new players, who are not all that fab either, to be honest
We started by an excellent string of draws and near defeats plus the odd win. Mid-table security loomed. Until 10 games before the end of season. We went into an 8 straight losses streak and I feared the worst, but somehow my boys managed to clinch the very last non-relegation spot on the very last day, also thanks to the team above us conveniently losing their last match. Safe by one point. :o
The board are really kind people: they are satisfied with my meddling and kindly advise me to ignore the fans who are calling for my sacking
Can't see this going anywhere fast, really. In a year of scouting Russia, Croatia, Poland, Eastern Europe and Asia (but I disregard any suggestions from outside the former Soviet Union) my 2 scouts have found about 30 players that were interested in a move to Khimki. 5 of them free. All 5 utterly gash, IMHO, but signed 3 of them because the scouts said they were OK-ish.
I can't really start offloading players, because I wouldn't be able to replace them...
We started season 2003 with two wins and a draw. After that, we usually win at home and lose the away games. Looks like my nurturing style has inspired a SC, an AMC and a DMC to produce their best, whilst one of the three youngsters I signed is going places in the defense.
With the season almost over, we're going to finish 7th-10th. Midtable security is there. The fans have stopped asking for my head, the board is satisfied, the stadium is usually 3/4 full.
Signed another five 'may be good some day' youngsters and got a good goalie on loan.
Looks like the 'ridiculous perseverance' part of this save has started. Waiting for those gems to develop, hoping for a freak run in the cup.
