I guess, as it's your decision to hire them, wasting money on too many useless coaches is just your problem, like buying a bad player etc.
CM actually limits you quite effectively in this, with the limit of 6 coaches to stop things getting silly.
A nice idea for future versions would be if this started off smaller and grew as the club did. Possibly in conjunction with training facilities.

btw if memory serves me that thread was started by either bell or Taipan
<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Twas me, your Honour.
I went through each team from the Conference to the Premier League and got the average number of coaches/physio's/scouts per league. The AI never has been keen on getting a full deck of either, and I was making a judgement that maybe due to this we had an unfair advantage over AI Managers.
It was one of my first real discussion threads on the forum, and like here it was poo-pooed as a bad idea.
I tried it for a while . No longer did you have a full house of scouts to find your players and if you started with a Conference side and using SWYCT in combination, the game became very difficult. You had one or if you were lucky two to search the backstreets for players.
Same went for the coaches. Three if you were lucky and I found my players just did not have thier attributes increasing, and in most cases they went into decline.
In the end I strayed from it, and haven't been back since.
The original post is somewhere in the dark distant backpages, but I still have a copy of it on my web site.

I find that any coaching slots available can be filled by older players who can have their contracts re-negotiated with player/coach contracts. I have my own requirements which I am not going to give as I consider that I would be tipping.
As far as scouts are concerned, I don't see the need for more than 2 scouts until the 1st division.

I'll try and have a full non-playing staff list (except for scouts) at all times. I want all of my players to have the benefit of quality coaching. I don't really care how much debt I'm in. I'll sacrifice a player if I have to.

While on the topic of coaches, I noticed that the prolific aging forward I have, when asked to be AM as well had a preference for the tactic used when he was at his best. Is that merely a coincidence or am I just poofy enough not to have noticed this before?
Thanks, Taips I'll check it out |

If the OFBG thinks it's realistic, then so be it.
