Default LLM Newbie!!

What is wrong with Rushden according to the peeps on this board??

I have managed them before and liked them but now after reading this i'm not so sure.

Have just started a new game as scarborough BTW.

Rushden basically start the game with a lot of money and a good reputation, so it is quite easy to attract better players to the club. It has been said that Rushden are a good side to cut your LLM teeth on.

However, they are Div 3, and you will find that most of the LLaMas around here look for a challenge in the lowest playable division - Conference, Serie C2 etc, and look at other factors - small stadium, large debt, big/small squad etc.

Have a read through some of the older threads, and you will see the variety of teams that people have achieved success at (or not in some cases)

Scarborough are a good team imo.

Not easy as you tend to lose your better players, one of the better clubs to manage though I would say.

R&D is fine for a 1st time LLM player. But the point we're making is that there is no challenge taking R&D to the Premiership, anyone can do it. So when people come on the thread and say, "What's so hard about LLM, I won everything with R&D in 10 years." Blah, blah, blah. It gets a little old.

Also, dealing with the "lowest playable league" issue above. Most of us do, but if you have a low-spec system, then turning on the Conference is an unnecessary burden, and Div 3 becomes the lowest playable league, so Div 3 won't get you burned. But that's a conscience issue, if you can afford to turn on the Conference, one should, unless you intend to move around the world and turn on a bunch of different leagues, because then you have to decide whether or not to turn on 'all' the Conference-level equivilents. I do, but again, not everyone can afford it.

SAFC 2-1, It's not about playing the hardest Club.

LLM's about taking over a Lower League Team, playing to the game according to the LLM Spirit and Ethics, and succeeding or failing on your own merit.

I've said before, and I'll do it to death, if you take over most LL Clubs, and if you play purely in the LLM way, any LL Club is hard.
