I sign this youngster, 15 years of age. He plays in the reserves for two years. I ask my coaches to evaluate him and all of them tell me to ditch the guy, he simply will never cut it.
I put him on the transfer list, which he finds disappointing.
He gets sold shortly thereafter. In a parting shot he reveals that the transfer was partly motivated by a clash with former manager Deejay van der Duim.
Two mistakes on his side: First of all we never clashed, really. The second mistake is far more crucial. I am not his former manager just yet
To fine the git or not to fine the git, is the question.
Doesn't seem worth it, as it may upset other players, but it would feel sooooooo good
I am a far too nice and soft person, I let him off without even a warning. Just seems too risky. A bit like complaining about an awful ref after we win. I just don't dare to
Like LFC, 2 week fine for "unprofessional behavior." I've never seen the players go against me in this one. In fact, as RT said, if the players say anything, it's to voice their support. Your lads aren't too likely to be pleased about someone bad-mouthing the side either.
I fine the moaning prat a week's wages for unprofessional behavior.
I often get the message that the player feels victimized and that I'm trying to force him out of the club. No messages of support.
Once I had a player who signed a Bosman deal (and wouldn't be leaving the club for about 4 months) make that same statement about how it was motivated by a clash with me. I fined him, stuck him in the reserves and removed him from training for those last 4 months.
I always fine players who publicly slag off players, the club or myself.
On one such occasion mentioned here, I had messages of support from the other players!
Like we said, it doesn't. In fact, what's more likely to upset the club in this instance is if you don't act and the player is stuck with your club until the transfer deadline. I always fine for this, and the only message I ever get is that players "Hope 'x' learns from his mistakes."

Removed from training? You should have had him on intensive, 7 days a week! He'd never make that mistake again.

I didn't want his Bolshie attitude infecting the rest of the lads.
