Hmmm, that's interesting.
I left the game running on holiday mode/apply at higher rep. clubs all workday.
I return home to find: my successor at Shamrock Rovers leads them to 9th, 7th, and 12th place finishes (to get relegated to D1). I get hired there again almost exactly 4 years after my sacking, finish 9th and get sacked again after about 9 months in charge.
4 months later (December 2011) I get the job at Melbourne Knights. But because of the holiday mode I'm in, I keep applying for jobs at other clubs. And the board lets me know their unhappiness about it (February 2012). March 2012 there's a report that the supporters are calling for my resignation and the board is "a little disappointed" in my performance. So the end result is that I am again "slightly insecure" as the club is 15th. (they finished 10th, 12th, 15th the previous 3 seasons) and the best they've done is 7th in the 2nd and 3rd seasons of the game.
I guess for some reason I was thinking the game would come off of holiday mode when I got a new job.
Anyway, the game is now in March 2012. Here's some other stuff:
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
Liverpool lead the EPL by 2 points over Southampton, Man City and Boro. Man Utd are 12th after coming back up from Division 1 at the first attempt (Celtic's RL manager got sacked after their relegation and they are now under the direction of Boro's RL manager) Wigan are in the Premiership and holding their own in 7th.
That RL Celtic manager, after getting sacked by Man U, went to Bolton where he was forced to resign. He is now in charge of Chicago Fire in MLS.
Wimbledon are now in Division 3, but looking good for promotion back to D2.
Dover are now in the league and after consecutive 20th place finishes, are in the playoff spots.
Millwall are only 4 points clear of the drop to the Conference.
Swindon are looking to end a 2-year exile to the Conference, now 5 points clea of Bromsgrove Rovers. Preston are in danger of being relegated out of the Conference. Blackpool were relegated out of the Conference at the end of the 2008/09 season.
Not so many surprises in Germany: Dortmund lead the pack, with Bayern Munich 3rd. Leverkusen might get relegated to D2 though, only 3 seasons after their last of 3 straight titles.
Dundee are the 3rd force in Scotland, having won the SPL in 2009, 2007, 2005. And they're 3 points clear of St. Mirren ATM. Celtic are 6th, which would be their lowest finish this game. Rangers are 9th, also would be their lowest finish (though they did finish 5th last season). Hearts look cert for relegation: 11 points adrift of Dundee Utd following 3 straight 10th place finishes after having treaded water in mid-table for donkeys years. Iaj can take some comfort though: Hibs look cert for relegation to D2, also 11 points adrift.
In the States, Columbus have won the last 2 MLS titles.
For cups, the FA Cup has been hoisted by Gillingham (2009), Cambridge Utd (2008). Did straighten out some last year, with West Ham winning.
The 2010 World Cup in China was won by Spain., with Brazil claiming their 4th straight runners-up position. Ireland won Euro '08 in Scotland over Germany. AC Milan has won 3 of the last 4 Champions League competitions. Spanish teams have been runners-up the last 6 seasons (Real Madrid 2011; Valencia 2009, 2008, 2006; Barcelona 2010. Barcelona beat Valencia in the 2006 final)
Among managers, the moaning Frenchman is still in charge at Arsenal. The Dutchman who made Barcelona orange is now in charge at Tranmere, after resigning from Tampa Bay and getting sacked by Stoke City).
The Geordie poof and former England captain wound up his career at Bolton, then went to Japan to become a coach in the non-league. After 4 years there, he is now the manager at Peterhead.
The Boy O is now a grizzled veteran at Barcelona, following a stint at Dortmund.
Posh Spice's husband was released on free transfer by Man Utd after the 2009/10 season. He went to America where he played 2 seasons with Tampa Bay, and is now looking for another team. At 36, he still has the stats to show he can do the business, though he's quite a bit slower now.
Among other Man Utd players, Mr. G. N. is now player/manager at Stoke City. The tempermental Irishman and the French goalkeeper have retired and chosen to go into punditry instead of coaching.
The lovely Louise Nerdling's husband finished his playing career with stints at Rangers sandwiched around some time at Spurs. He went to Southampton as a coach, but now has returned to Liverpool to be a coach there.
Another former Liverpool player famous for snorting chalk lines won 5 straight Supporters Player of the Year awards at Monaco, before concluding his career in America with Colorado. He is now a scout for....Everton.
The Overrated One (R***** K****) is now with Arsenal.
Among Yank players, the Mohawked one known as "Cletus" was sold to PSV, where he played 3 seasons before returning to America to play for Kansas City. He is now without a club, but New England are interested. He even speaks fluent Dutch now! /thinks of Cletus tackling the Dutch language in his Southern US accent.
Other Yanks haven't gone on so far. The midfielder caught ****ing on the bench has moved to New England. The young DC United defender noted by the Geordie poof and his senile manager IRL has stayed with DC United. The (likely) next great US keeper IRL (playing for New York) ended up going to Brazil on a free transfer. The young Chicago forward was sold to Galatasaray where he's been banging in the goals. "Waldo" is now assistant manager at Betis. The "Captain for Life" and ex-Wednesdayite is assistant manager at IFK Goteborg, with the religious national team defender alongside him as coach. "Captain America" went to Everton from Rangers, then to Bolton. Blackburn's favorite GK was sold to Gillingham, then went to Wycombe on a Bosman where he retired. Natalie Portman's twin left for Los Angeles on a Bosman before returning to Germany with FSV Frankfurt where he is banging in the goals in the Regionaliga.

Off to see if I can salvage my rep. now.
