We're 15 matches into the season now and we are still going strong. I think I know what the secret is, but I'm not tipping yous

(Before anyone starts: it's not a trick or supertactic or anything, just a general strategy of when to apply what system against what opponent that seems to work for now. Even the opponent's dratted "4-4-2* push - beats every system by a human manager no matter what"-tactics (which I consider an AI cheat, by the way) seem to fail so far )

It's un-LLM. It's boring. It's incredible.

Our form stuck and we finished second in the league. Just like that. And went on to win the semi-final for the league play-off 2-1 at home and 3-3 away.

The final started fine: 2-0 at home. The away game was dire, we lost 0-2 and I had to sit through two horrible 15 minutes of match extensions to see the match end 0-2.

Fully expecting penalties, I was amazed and pleased that we were declared the winners, because we ended higher up on the table in the regular season :eek:

Promotion in our first year!! :o

I attribute about 50% of that to the old warhorse, who played about 60 minutes of every single game, scoring 19 goals from 37 appearances. At 36 years of age!

We should erect a statue for the man

Next year should be mega-difficult then. I hope. Another promotion and it's no longer LLM...

Old Warhorse gets into the Serie C team of the year, gets voted player of the year and decides to quit while he's ahead. Let's hope he'll keep up his inspirational ways as an AssMan.

We manage to sign a few promising youngsters and see a handfull come up through the youth system.

Next season starts OK with a 3-0 thrashing of Pordenone (only a friendly though) and a nice 1-1 versus Pisa for the cup, a young SC, freshly promoted from the youth (he scored 18 goals and 9 assists, 5 MOM in the reserves last year and reckons he's entitled to first team play, so do I) scoring on his debut.

Een goed begin is het halve werk (A good start is half the work done), as they say in Dutch.

It looks like OWH is doing fine, no matter what sort of partners he prefers The reserves usually put up a good show and the first team is third after seven matches :eek: with only three points separating us from the top spot.

The young SC is doing fine, as is the 18-year old AMC replacement for OWH. I just realized, that I am playing all the time with unaltered standard tactics :eek: This game is basically running itself

The board is so happy that they keep our balance at about zero and they have allowed me to spend 50k already. (Yes! Finally I have a true DL (who averages a solid 7.71, tackling 4.0 :cool: ) Last year's DL, now also retired, has fabulous coaching stats, lucky me. Unlucky: other teams are playing poach the coach, but so far he has rejected about 20 offers. Good man. He accepted one, but that team kindly asked for a delay as they couldn't afford the transfer fee (2k ). I kindly declined a delay. Mwuhahahah

Is it really really certain, that playing with one league isn't somehow easier?

What can I say? We repeated last year's performance by ending second in the league (one point away from the leaders, close!).

The semi-final away was a weird match. For the first time in two years we concede 4 goals (GK scoring a 4 ) but we manage to score 3 for ourselves. The home leg is a 3-0 walkover. On to the playoff final!

Away we get behind 1-0. We equalize.
They score another: 2-1. We equalize again.

I expect a good game at home. Boy, did the supporters get their money's worth!!!

They take the lead. 0-1. We equalize.
They take the lead again. 1-2. We equalize.
End of 90 minutes.
Again they take the lead. 2-3. Guess what? We equalize.
End of time.

Who wins? Them, on away goals?
Nope, we win, because we were higher in the season!

That makes it two promotions in two years. We're in the serie B :eek:

So everyone is still convinced that it is really, really, really not easier with only one league installed? I am really starting to get doubts now. I vividly remember my era with Poggese (Italy foreground, all other leagues background). It took quite a bit longer than that to get up to the Serie B, it certainly did. 10 years, IIRC.

(I'm not complaining, mind yous )
