04/05 End of Season

In our first game back from the break, at HSV, we lost our 2 top strikers to injury for a month. We got knocked out of the Pokal by Bayern in the Semis, and knocked out of the UEFA by Nantes in the rough of 16 before either one of them were back.

But even after they came back, our league form remained mediocre. We ended up 12/12/10, 48 points, and 8th place. We're going to have to qualify for the UEFA Cup through the Inter-Toto next season, and I'm going to have to try to find a way to get better service to our strikers.

The board is still delighted in me, but I fear that we're not going to be better than a 2nd-tier 1.Bundesliga team. We'll give it another year to see if we can make some progress.

Champion's League-Borussia Dortmund
UEFA- Bayer Leverkusen
League- FC Bayern- set a record for points in season.
Pokal- Schalke 04

We broke the bank and bought the Yank Golden Boy in a 17mil transfer+ appearance fees. The fans rejoiced, but it wiped out our whole season ticket sales for the season, and Stuttgart simply went and added a young Brazilian who plays IRL at Paris SG. So breaking the bank may not have allowed us to make any movement on the front runners.

The board's expectations for next season are "respectable league position." So the good news is that a placement the same place as last season will be sufficient for them. Not for me though.

Not now that I broke the bank. I'm going to see if there's progress on the top-tier this season. If there is, I'll stay. If not, then I'll chalk this up to "I've done all I can with them," and move on.

I have re-entered the world of International Management (world-wide rep of 212 out of over 7k). Cameroon and Nigeria both offered me their jobs, but Green and white is easier to read than Green and Red, so I'm back with the Super Eagles. We beat Zambia in my debut 4-0. A friendly against Cameroon is on tap.

Still at Essen, season just started, knocked out of Inter-Toto in the 3rd round by Blackburn, 4-5 on aggregate, we played the first leg in Blackburn with an entirely unfit team (here's hoping the fitness issue is resolved for CM4, like your side wouldn't know that the Inter-Toto Cup starts a few weeks early). We drew Hannover 96 in the 2nd round of the Pokal, so we've received no favors there either. The good news is that Brazilian transfer I mentioned before fell through, and he went to Parma instead and Bayern won the World Club Championships to further mark Bundesliga dominance.

Was the Golden Boy still at Leverkusen or was he wasting his talent in the MLS?

Essex,

Actually it was Euros, as I only use pounds when in England, so figure 9.5ish million pounds. I turned down a 12mil Euro offer for my Right wingback. I got offers from Arsenal, Bayern, Dortmund, and VfB Stuttgart. All in the 10-12mil range, I negotiated to 15mil + appearances, but they wouldn't go that high. I kinda wish I sold him now, to be honest. He's good, but that would've paid for Golden Boy in itself. And I could've easily covered the right wingback position until I found someone yound and cheap to replace him.

And the board already considers GB "invaluable" to the side. The instant he arrived his value hit 20mil Euro, so I could sell him now for a (small) profit.

Educated,

GB was still in San Jose, to my shock. Even more amazing, he was happy to stay at San Jose even after I started bidding. Not to say he gave me any problems when I got MLS to give in.

DD,

I've actually had the GB in a previous save too. But it stil felt nice when my scout popped up with the "excellent signing" message.
