I may just be venting here, but I hope it makes me feel better.

My current save game is with Scarborough and after two years I think I'm a couple of players short of mounting a promotion campaign next year. It's Bosman sseason and I'm conducting an intense search for interested players for next year. Now for the hard part.

I've requested my scouts to watch a good number of players that I'm interested in. It seems that my scouts are a ot less interested than I am. I've had no response from them. I've sent them to the country that they players are in in the hopes of them stumbling across them. I've even assigned them to scout the team some of the players are on, bu to no avail.

In wild desperation I even broke the bank and hired another scout in the hopes that he is willing to actually do his job. Looks like the other two have only taught him how to file for expenses without actually watching a football match.

Do I can the lot and start over? There are a lot of pubs in the UK for them to be hiding in..

If I have to visit each and every one, so be it.

Hope I'm not just stating the obvious - but scouts don't look at other players whiel they are assigned a scout mission.

Ie, if your scout is looking for youth players, and you stunble upon a Italian whizz kid while playing a friendly - if you want to scout him pretty much immediately, you have to recall the scout from his youth search...

Sorry if this is what you've done already!

I've left them unassigned for the longest time in hopes of a response. All they did was get fat, and not report on anything.

Too bad they don't have an initiative rating.

The problem could be the number of players you are trying to scout. The more players you are scouting, the slower response times will be.

It could be entirely possible that they've not played a game maybe. Nothing to report on.

These are all good ideas. Thanks, I do feel a bit better and will try to lighten their load with fewer players.

I still think it's the free satellite TV offered in the motels; and those damn mini-bars.

It takes four weeks for a player to be scouted if he isn't watched playing a game so this could be your answer!

Just be thankful you have scouts!
