Default League Management on a Budget

Well, this is my First official LLM Game, although i do always enjoy taking lower league teams (though not norm this low) up into the big time - So here Goes:

2007/2008: SpVgg Underhaching (Germany Regional Division South)

Players Brought in: 4 (0K Spent)
Players Loaned in: 3 (0k Spent)
Players Sold/ Released: 4 (0k Received)

Ok Squad to start with, although lacking in depth in all areas esp. up front. Set about strengthaning my squad and got 7 players in (thank god for starting with Scouts in the Team) 2 SC and an AML on Loan along with a DL, DR, DMC and a MC in on Frees to bolster the Spine of the squad.
Pre Season was a total Bust, lost 3 out of 5 matches and my paper thin squad looked fragile with 1 or 2 injurys as only 18 out of my 24 man squad where up to the league Std im my opinion. To add to this, the German league has some strange rules considering match days - 6x German U24 & 2x German U21 MUST be in the 18 Man squad. This caused afew headaches let me tell you. The Season Started with a loss however we went on a good run of 14 Games Unbeaten but a lack of goals (17 including 9 in the last 3 games) made most of these Draws and as such the board and fans where not happy wanting promotion now rather than later. 6 games, 1 goal & 4 pts later i was handed my P45 and told to clear out.

Played: 21 W: 7 D: 11 L: 3 Goals: F: 18 A: 10 (+8GD)
154 Days

Floated in the job market for afew weeks and got offered a New job:

2007/2008: RBC Roosendaal (Dutch 1st Division)

19th In League & Want Survival, i was Very Hopefull of acheiving this as the Squad was Exerlent although the Morale was rock bottom and the wage bill was out of control and as such no money was available for signings, so i set about re-organising the team, deployed the tactic that had served me well at SpVgg (Defence wise anyways) however 3 loses and 2 Draws later and im already sacked, quite unberleavable really as i was not even given a chance to turn their fortunes around (the Draws there the last 2 Games)

Played: 5 W:0 D:2 L:3 Goals: F:2 A:6 (GD-4)
57 Days

After that Experiance i Decided i wanted to return Home to England, so i Declaired intrest in all BSS/ BSN & BSP Clubs until:

2007/2008: Havant & Waterlooville (My Hometown Club) Blue Square South

11th Place, Board want to be in BSP within 3 Years.
The Squad was VERY VERY Poor, Safe from Relagation this year already, i decided to play defencive and Scout out now for next years Talent.

13th Place Played: 4 W:0 D:1 L:3 Goals: F:1 A:7 (GD-6)

2008/2009 Havant and Waterlooville (Blue Square South)

Board: Mid Table/ 1st Round FAC/2nd Round FAT/3rd Round SC
Media: 6th
Players Bought: 19
Players Loaned: 3
Players Sold/ Released: 43

The Board and i wanted the same thing, respectable leage position (Top Half) so with that in mind and no funds available in transfer fee or wage i released my Entire U18 and any Dead Weight within the team. with a wage budget now secured i went about signing the players i need and boy did my scouts come up trumps. 19 Players with afew Dubbed as League 2 Standard laterand i was happy, however 1 win in 4 during pre-seasonlead me to think i needed afew more in esp. as my my DC was getting exposed for pace time and time again, so i go back to my scouts and find 3 Gems avail for Loan (I Love Reserve Squads): 1 GK and 2 DC all League 2 Standard Join up aand away we go.
The Season Starts Badly Due to the lack of Co-heasion within the Squad losing 4 on the bounce, however a slight change in the tactics (a DMC moved to a MC) and suddenly i go on an amazing run (23 Games: W14 D:6 L:3) including a 6 match winning streak that moves me from relagation to playoffs and i stayed there for the rest of the season. Unfortunetly i was upagainst my Bogie Team Ebbsfleet in the Playoff Final so no promotion this year however i am delighted how this year went.

Position: 3rd
Played: 42 W:23 D:9 L:10 Goals: F:81 A:55 (GD+26) 78pts

Note: 3 Strikers hit 15+ Goals this year: 15,21 and 25 Respectivly)
On Loan DC also manaded to score 8

2009/2010 Havant and Waterlooville (Blue Square South)

Board: Win BSS/1st Round FA/2nd Round FAT/3rd Round SS
Media: 1st (Joint Bookies with 2 others)
Players Bought: 5 (0k Spent)
Players Loaned: 4 (0K Spent)
Players Sold/ Released: 13 (8K Received)

After Missing out on Promotionin the Playoff Final Last Year the aim was to build on it and win the League outright. A GK and 2 DC where the priority as my 3 starsfrom last year decided not to returnagain this term. No Decent DC`s where found so i had to resort to Loan signings agains and found them at Portsmouth and Reading U18`s repectivly but did manage to get a Quality GK on a feee along with a League 2 Rated Utility Man, a Backup DC & GK and a quality MC.
Preseason was normal (P:3 W:1 L:3 F:4 A:7) however the season was exerlent, 15 Games unbeaten run within the first 18 games set the tone and although my form diped at christmas due to fixture congestionand a small squad, I secured 1st place and promotion on a last day 3-1 victory over Fisher Athletic, my first against them since taking over at Havant and Waterlooville.

Position: 1st Played: 42 W:24 D:12 L:6 Goals F:81 A:40 (GD+41) 84pts

Note: 2 Strikers 21 League Goals, 29&25 each overall
Top Player: AMR: 35 Games 23 Asst 7.35Av Raiting

Heres hoping for the future in the Blue Square Prem!!!!!

Good to know I'm not the only one to leave Holland inside 2 months although 57 days shows real committment compared to my 39 days at Groningen.

Good luck in England.

Nice that you finally beat Fisher, and at the key time. Good Luck with BSP next year.

Just got offered the MK Dons Managers Position in League 2 - Was Damn Tepting, willing to give me a 40k per week Wage Budget, but no Transfer kitty (Currently have a 7k Per week Budget and no Transfer money) but i have decided to stay with Havant & Waterlooville as i want to give the BSP a crack with My Team rather than a hybred that i would get through accepting the MK Don Offer
