Can anyone please tell me the main difference between these two kinds of passing?It seems to me that they are very similar,or maybe I'm wrong...Is it possible to play wide and use short passes???

The Difference between short and direct passing? Post #2
Direct is basically "long", so they're opposites. Think of it as direct to the forwards. Wide and narrow don't refer to passing per se, just where your players will be on the pitch.

Long= Hoofing it
Direct= Getting somewhere in the least number of passes but more controlled

Just think of it as the length of the pass your player looks for. Hence, width can assist in bringing players closer for the short option, or wider for longer passes.
