Now many of you think this is a complaining thread. No. Quite the opposite, I'm very pleased. I'm just wondering this thing I've encountered.
The thing is: My team plays the first half awfully. Not creating many chances, I almost think they're sleeping. Opponent scores 1 or 2 goals as a result of horrible mistakes or it's 0-0 and nothing happens.
Then comes the half time. I'm disappointed about their performance, and use that kind of team talk too. "We must get a result here" etc.
And..
The second half is a joy to watch. My team creates chances, plays very well. And yes, scores goals. Down 0-2 at half time, a great comeback in the last 10 minutes and winning 3-2. Scoring game winning goals in 89. min, 90. min, 91. min., 94. min..
Like I said, I'm not complaining about that, not at all! I would just like to know what's the thing behind this? My squad description is "determined", so I understand that they fight until the end. But what's causing the slow start? Do they think, that "we're going to win this anyway" or what?
Sounds like you're making them complacent in some way - either your habitual answer to the pre-match media question or the pre-match team talk, I would guess.
