Ive noticed with my current team that I have a lack of friendlies before the season starts which really doesnt help with them regaining match fitness. Is there any way to get more friendly matches?

Go to fixtures and press Add Friendly?

Go to Manager -> Manager Options

Then click Responsible for arranging friendly matches at the top of the page.

Your assistant manager will now arrange a series of friendlies for you. However you are also free to arrange your own by doing this:

Fixtures -> Arrange Friendly

You then decide the date and type (Tour, Cup, League, etc) and finally choose the teams you want to be involved. They don't always agree but it doesn't cost anything to ask.
