my team's morale has been destroyed because I'm fiscally responsible...grrr
As Solihull in the BSN, I barely survived relegation the first season. I inherited the team after they sacked their manager in March. I also inherited over 200k in red. They are only valued at 22k. Their wage budget was 400k too.
In second season, the option came to decide what kind of payment they got for winning the league. With all the debt, a betting prediction of 2000-1 odds for promotion, and a media prediction of 22nd, I chose the lowest compensation package offered (85k instead of 140k for normal bonus).
Immediately, almost all of my players went to poor morale and have stayed there most of the season, even after praising them at appropriate times in the media as well as being in 14th place 18 games into the season. What gives? My team's morale is still rock bottom even though we've had two separate 5 game unbeaten runs. Granted, they weren't all wins, but my supporter's confidence was green for all of the draws and wins.
Does this always happen when you try to keep a club solvent? If so, this bites...

I always offer the lowest, and it doesnt SEEM to have an affect on performance. The problem with the feature is this...
Season 1 > Low League Bonus = 85k (I won the league)
Season 2 > Low league Bonus = £110k (I won the league)
Season 3 > Low league Bonus = £150k (I won the league)
Season 4 > Low league Bonus = £190k (I won the league)
Season 5 > Low league Bonus = £220k (I won the league)
This is annoying. I don't want the bonus to rise like this. If I want to give them a LOW league bonus, please don't rise that for the next season.

If this needs ratio/coding needs to be adjusted in a patch, I'm sure it's way down on the punchlist.
Discouraging, but this game does have other really cool features that do outweigh this, however, this necessity to have a high or normal bonuses become required, then how is a team supposed to eventually become more financially solvent and eventually able to get some transfer money.
I already cut my wage budget from 400k to 200k to try and make some money, but all that progress is still going to get wiped out at the end of the season with my low bonus. I can't imagine trying to make money with a normal or high bonus.
