If you create a player and don't pick their salary and some attributes and stuff, will the computer fill them in for you when you start a new game using your edited database? Do you know what I mean?

Another problem I'm having as well is that when I saved, I typed in "custom" as the name of my edited database. However, the next time I went to save, there was no "custom" database, only "serv_db" or something like that. Does that mean that the original database has my new teams and players?

As far as I'm aware, the game will fill them in for you, yes.

I think the game *needs* to run from the 'server_db' file in this directory:

CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\FM2006\data\

So, if you replace the 'server_db' file in this directory with your saved file - renaming your saved file to 'server_db' - everything should work.

I think when people are talking about backing up your data, it means moving the original 'server_db' file to somewhere else, so you can copy it back if things go wrong with your edited file.

I think.
