Anyone have some ideas that have worked for them post-patch? My 'Pool team have a great record at home, but I'm having problems away from home. If I use my home tactic, I concede silly goals. If I play too defensive, I can't score. The team talks also seem to have a much bigger effect away from home. Also, defending a lead is difficult, at home or away. Can anyone provide some thoughts on things that have worked for them, post-patch?
just for clarity, im playing a pretty standard 4-4-2 on high tempo and mixed passing, with a target man/fast striker combo.
Cheers!

HELP with away games and defending a lead... Post #2
try a different formation.
i have read many other topics and many people choose the "english"4-4-2
Who plays 4-4-2 yet?Even the best teams in England (man.utd,chelsea.arsenal)are not playing this old formation. And even if it is a variety they not playing with crosses from the wingers.
Anyway i suggest a formation with at least 1 DM,2 CMs(1 creativity and 1 hidden attacker).
Try:3-5-2,4-1-3-2,4-1-4-1

I'd suggest going to counter attacking football away from home. The home team will attack, if you can catch them on the break their defence will be lighter.
