Decided to challenge myself with York in the Conference...
Expected to acheive mid-table mediocrity... and so far that has been the case.
Problem is, I lose good leads (1-0, 2-0) at home, and struggle to pickup points at home. Away form is one of the best in the league.
I play a back straight back four, which I don't want to change, but am open to suggesstions for the fron 6.
The only players I have that are 'untouchables' are Gavin McCallum and Peter Till (both good wingers who could be awesome), and Clayton Donaldson, a striker with nothing but pace who has scored 20 goals in 22 games so far in the league.
These three players have to start, and I am struggling to get the best out of all three of them.
Should I play another striker alongside Donaldson? Should I just leave the wingers out there, or bring them into play?
Any advice? I need to stop this home rot if I have a chance of promotion.
i find once your in the lead and want to kill the game just turn down everyones (except gk) mentality by 2 notches has a good effect, i tend to leave everything else alone and keep it simple, works well at conference level I got aldershot promoted in second season
