I am playing with United in my first season and the first time that I have played the game. I bought Gago, Nani, Guardado, and Adu for the team.
I went all the way until about mid November winning with a simple 4-4-2 that I have developed. I tried to base it of the R of Two. However, I must admit that after reading more about it I am not sure that I mirrored my players instructions as well as I could.
Nevertheless, I am at about the 27th of December. I have not won in about 5 games on the trot. Some end in ties others loses. The teams are not strong teams though. I am going 2-0 down to Charlton in the first ten minutes. I cannot score against Sheffield United nor Watford.
To give you an idea of my forward line, Rooney has 20 goals, Ronaldo has 15, Saha 3. He broke his leg in a freak accident. Smith is in and out of injury. I have 3.8 million left in the transfer budget. Can anyone give me some help or instruction of how to get out of this horrific slump. I went from top of the league to 7 points back and out of the League Cup.
Playing as Man Utd, I wouldn't have thought it would be a reranking issue as you would have had a high reputation from the start, and the "lesser" teams would have been cautious against you from Day 1.
Not much info to go on, but could you be having weather related problems. If your tactic uses short passing and a lot of RWB, bad pitches could be causing your troubles
The passing is short. To be honest, it is rather direct and bland I think. What information could be useful to offering advice. I just cannot understand how suddenly I am incapable of winning.

Which is it, short or direct? If you play a short passing game and the pitch is wet, then it stops you playing an efficient game. Just a little tweak like changing it to a more mixed or direct passing can easily turn your misfortunes around
The post below said that the passing is short. It is NOT short. I made a mistake. The lowest it goes is mixed. If I understand correctly from reading this, going from left to right, left being 0 or 1 and right being 20, I would say that I never go lower than 10.
i have the same issues but with Aldershot playing league two - last three seasons running i've been top going into november then hit the most awful streak nd generally miss play offs! any other ideas as to what could cause these slumps other than passing?? my main issue seems to be once your in the middle of a slump trying to lift enough confidence in the squad
i hadn't thought about the passing issue though so will try tweaking that and play more dirrect through the winter
I've been experimenting a bit more recently with team talks and the pre match media question and see that these play a massive part in this game, i'll have a read of the thread nd see if that helps, many thanks
helpful stuff i will be trying this later. does anyone have any views with reference training as well cause at the same time as my slump kicks in all my training arrows turn red nd stats slip back to same level as begining of season, not sure how i'm ment to mantain the high stats once i've trained the players up
