Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Why does a wet pitch have a negative impact on short passing? I disagree with this as IRL a wet pitch can be good for a nice slick passing game.

When your looking at the pitch, if you see that the pitch is darker, especially through the middle, then the pitch is muddy as a result of it being wet and short passing games just simply don't work.

Haven tried man-marking.
It can be disastrous if the AI switch positions. This is because the defender will basically 'follow' his man, and leave his original position open.

FM 2007 has introduce a new feature where zonal instructions are clearer and easier to give. You can set your centre backs on zonal with tight marking. At the same time, on opposition instructions, goto the strikers and set them on tight marking.

I was giving up on FM2007 until i came across the mentality thread. thanks a million. I manage to get my team to play some decent football.

Thanks
