playing online against my friend i am using a variety of tactics inlcuding a variation of the bluntblade tactic whilst he plays 4-4-2 and doesnt alter team or player intructions, just leaves them at default yet he is top of the league and just beat my 5-2! now isn't it just an unfair game when u can just sit there and do nothing and succeed or will he be affected when re-ranking kicks in?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that he's playing as Chelsea and your Watford. Probably completely off, but it seems like a viable explanation.

using my own tactic, i fell 4-0 down to arsenal at home as the boro. switched to standard attacking 442 and pulled back to 4-4 before henry struck in the last minute to make it 5-4.

my patience is growing thin. been playing fm all day as well as all last night and i just cant make sense of these tactics.

followed everything in this forum, read everything in the TTF thread, followed everything put forward by cleon and others yet still cannot get any consistency, just seems to be luck.

nah i am arsenal and he his man utd! its my defence thats the problem, his defence is good though. Just feel so cheated that he doesnt even try and wins grrr

Now that i've calmed down, I can get to grips with the situation. From my experience, a mixed bag works best for me.

Yeah, I've suddenly discovered this tday after weeks of keyboard bashing.

You definatly need 2 different tactics for H and A to fool the AI, Ive just switched to these tactics with some sucess to date

Jornada, if you useing the blunt blade, then this is not going to work very well with arsenal, Arsenal have far diffrent type players from sheffield united, you need to be much more aggresive in attack you need to basicly put more players mentality into normal and play a more atttacking formation. closing down is about the same but you have quick defenders so when attacking and the other team is attacking push up, if they are defending you should sit deep slow tempo really short passing and make them come out to you for the ball, they will soon change to an attacking formation simply because they cant get possesion, this means you can push up go attacking play longer type of passing and attack into the gaps they leave in there formation.
