I have been having a good season up until now and it seems the AI has gotten wise to my tactic... unfortunately no matter what I do it's not working and I have just lost the league cup final to Man U and also lost a few points in the league we have 7 games left and even if I win my 2 games in hand, which is unlikely I will be 4points behind chelsea. My problem is, that all my games now are biggies (Man U in the second knockout rnd of champs league, Man U in FA Cup Semis, Man U in league and Chelsea in league.)
I am playing 1 striker and I know now that this needs to be changed for next season. I want to play a 442 but I'm ashamed to say it, but I have never got this formation to work in FM or CM manager games, my wingers always play average. I am playing a 4 3 2 1 and up until now I was hammering people.
What do I do. This is my second season and again it looks like i'm not going to deliver the PL title. Will I get the boot despite winning the Champions League last season and the super cup and world club cup this season??? I still have a canny shot at the FA cup and Champions League, but need to beat Frickin Man U who always butcher me. Is it essential I win more trophys or am I looking for a new job?
Don't know whether you will get the sack or not, would be a bit harsh if you did after a great first season.
At least you had a good first season! I have just started a new Arsenal game using my usual tactic, which won me the league with Villa. However after 18 league games my record is W6 D5 L7. I wouldn't mind but I am murdering teams (ie. having three times as many shots as my opponents but still losing!).
I can't understand it as I have a great team. Sold Song & Almunia and brought in Akinfeev, Matias Fernandez, Aguero & Zarate. Also brough in all the usual youngsters (Sakho, Breno, Lulinha, Banega, Torje, Saivet, Wijnaldum, Gunter). So should have an awesome team in a couple of years, if I haven't been sacked by then!
You could do as you suggest that would work. Alternatively if you have some money to spend I would bring in Van der Vaart he is brilliant in that AMC position. I would probably get rid of some of your MC/DM’s as you don’t really need more than 3. Hope this helps.
