I could cry, I really wanted to start this update thread in triumph, but I could cry. In fact I feel the tears building up in my eyes.
As I said it started at Ävlsby in Sweden, but I got relegated in the first season. Iajafer was keen to point out that the problems I was experiencing were due to tactics, formations and instructions. Not being one to disregard the advice of my elders I took his advice to heart when I got the job that had become available at TN Solutions, however, after 2 relatively good seasons I got bored in Wales and resigned from my position and joined Southport. I did well in my first season at Southport earning a respectable 8th place in the conference and winning the FA Trophy. My 2nd season at Southport, which I just finished, had the board yet again wanting a respectable league position, but the lads and I had other ideas. We surged to the top of the table with the intend to challenge for promotion, and we challenged. For quite a while we were leading the pack with Chester as the main contenders.
In the end, however, Dag & Red had put themselves in a position where it was us or them, and it came down to the final day. Both teams were playing away against other top 5 teams, and at halftime we were ahead by 3-1 against Halifax, and as far as I was concerned there were smooth sailings ahead.
as you can see the 2nd half changed that. The game ended 4-4, not good enough for promotion. I will make a vow right here that I will not leave Southport before I get them out of the conference, but I'm still gutted
Keep it going donald, I had a similar experience with Kettering and jacked it in and joined Bradford Park Avenue, only to see Kettering get promoted next season.
I had the last laugh, cos BPA passed Kettering in the third division three seasons later

We had a dream and we fought for it. The fight was led by a prolific forward who scored more goals than Stafford R did, thus beating the Conference record. The same striker set several Southport records this season as well, sadly he's now 32 years old and will probably retire in a couple of years. The team set 2 other records as well, Southport is the team who has scored the most goals and achieved the highest amount of points in Conference history.
Yeah you guessed it we achieved the promotion we were denied during the previous season. I'm ecstatic this is by far my greatest achievement in CM, and if I have anything to say about it they can put CM4 on hold for a good while.
The only reason this looks as tight as it does is that my mid-season slump lasted longer than it usually does. The truth is tha we had a phenomenal season. By x-mas I was pretty much certain I would win promotion, but that's when things started to go downhill. Premier teams had poached our best players and our consistency suffered. So with 10 games to go I purchased 2 Welsh midfield hardmen to stabilize the team, and it worked.
A pretty good season that in the end gave us hope for promotion, a hope that was shattered as Stockport beat us by 1 goal in the playoff semi. I've started trimming the squad of all the conf level players still hanging around who are starting to suffer at this level and I have high hopes for the future.
btw my non-update thread crusade has been cut short, after reviewing my list most of the topics just seemed to GQish, I haven't thrown in the towel yet though
