Rant

A pretty good season where we slowly managed to secure first playoffs, then promotion and finally the 2nd division title.
The Major news in this update however is that I’ll start showing who have won the different honours in the league I’m playing in, in Europe and internationally.

Honours

EPL: Chelsea
FA Cup: Chelsea
League Cup: Sunderland

Champions Cup: Barcelona
UEFA Cup: Real Madrid

World Cup: Brazil

Southport in tears

Yesterday Southport manager, through 6 succesfull seasons, Mike Nielsen, gave the Southport board his letter of resignation. The reason he claims is that he needs a new challenge. Reports have linked him to several teams in Scotland, but at this point it remains unclear where he will go.

Rant
During the past ¾ season I was starting to feel itchy. I felt I needed to kove on, try a new challenge whatever it turned out to be. Therefore, I resigned from my position at Southport, too loaded with cash anyway, and applied for every job available. Morton who where at the foot of the Scottish 3rd Division were the first team to respond so I accepted.
Less than 15 points separated the bottom team from the top team and we slowly managed to climb the table, adding a trophy to the cabinet.
In 1917 Morton finished 2nd in the Scottish Premier and my goal is to make sure that they celebrate the 100th anniversary in at least that position. That gives me 6 seasons to get the team to that level.
Money is tight so I have decided that the club should live of free youngsters and youngsters coming through our own ranks untill we are in a secure financial position. That’s it for the rant this time

Honours
Scottish Premier: Celtic
Scottish Cup: Livingston
Uefa Cup: Benfica
Champions Cup: Barcelona

We came, we saw and we ran away with it, but the highlight of this season wasn’t the league, it was the League Cup. We earned ourself a fixture at Celtic Park, and even though Celtic beat the crap out of us winning 4-1 that game turned our £175k deficit into an £250k plus. That gives us hope for the future as we now have the finances to actually pay for a player or two if we want to. However, I believe that the key to our current succes is that we haven’t brought players in from other clubs, we have only signed youth players and that’s a policy I intend to keep following.

Scottish Cup: Celtic
UEFA Cup: FC København (deserves a smiley )

Well, I can’t really complain about much. The team played well and we made a decent profit. However, I’m starting to wonder; since there is no relegation from the 3rd division, how and why did Gretna get there?

Morton Scottish Premier League 2013/14
-------------------------------------------------------------

Well, The Scottish Premier League is tough, we managed to finish 10th in spite of a dismal run at the end of the season. The high point of the season was beating Rangers 3-0 in the league cup semi, the low point was losing 3-0 to Aberdeen in the league cup final.

The boards expectations for the coming season is to stay clear of relegation while achieving a good cup run.

My main concern at his point is our training facility which is rated as awful.

Morton will be playing in the Champions League next season!!

We managed to win the league by 6 points in a weird season. Allthough Celtic finished 2nd the Old Firm was never really a factor. I guess they were too busy pounding each other to notice teams like Dundee United, Ayr, Kilmarnock and Morton go past them in the table, however, a great run at the end of the season took Celtic to 2nd place while Rangers were still lingering in 4th.

We still have the training facility issue to deal with, but I expect that to happen during the summer break.

Why the hell wasn't I awarded manager of the year??? I am very dissapointed

I live 5 min walk from Cappielow Park, and I can assure you, that if someone took a pi55 on it, the quality of the ground would double.. what a ****ing dump

Sorry, a minor update. It appears that the board made the entire squad pi55 on the ground, cause the facilities just got updated to Top facilities plus youth academy

That , however, means we are £984k in the red, but CL matches alone should remedy that
