What that National Division 1 needs is a few more teams....

I'm tempted to start a game in Brazil, but it doesn't look like there's enough hours in the day, judging by the amount of games/tournaments around.

KUTGW Jraldous, BTW what are the board like at Ipatinga? Any luck with improvements/ground expansions, that sort of thing? And do they ever get impatient?

Bugger! When I left it all looked so good, Jon. Next season, though

The first board were OK, not too demanding. We ended up in a mile of debt and got a takeover.

The new board are great, and I asked for and got improved youth facilities (about 4 upgrades to top notch with Youth Academy at once :o ) at first time of asking. That was the only time I ever had money. They expect only a respectable league position despite our great results in recent seasons.

I don't know how the original board would have gone at the top level.

Time for the new season. In come 3 new D Cs on Bosmans. At least one will be a first teamer straight away. The other two will have to fight it out with the existing squad.

Also in comes a brilliant striker from local rivals Atletico Mineiro for nothing This gives me 5 options up front but I need cover because I fear one of the good young pair I have will want to move on sometime in the next 12 months.

I've added a 3rd keeper (on loan from Gremio) for some depth. I'm still lacking a decent left back but there are enough options to cover it I hope.

Now for some luck

NOTE: The following may be construed as bragging but I assure you its nothing but frustration

We've done it... 100 games without a defeat in the Minas Gerais State League

YAWN!!

This gives me no indication as to how well we are playing compared to our ND1 competition in the second half of the year

The streak is over. 106 games. A very disappointing defeat to non-league opposition

That's an amazing record though.

You will be glad to know that in real life Ipatinga is a feeder tem of Cruzeiro.

Bah... we're bigger than they are now In fact they wouldn't have beaten us in about 5 seasons I'd reckon.

The other three big clubs in MG (America, Atletico and Cruzeiro) have turned into feeder clubs for me as I steal generally one player a season from one of them on a Bosman

Remember that's only the state league... I lost plenty of games in ND1 in between state league seasons
