Libertadores update:
First game away to Catolica was one of those we have all the shots but the grey goalkeeper is unbeatable 0-0
Home to River Plate, just about match them on the field but one of those CM easter eggs scores twice for them 0-2
Home to Santos, trail 2-0 but win 5-2
Home to Catolica, lead 2-0, they equalize but we get the winner, 3-2
Away to River Plate...
...made the last group game redundant (warning, regens named)
Got away game to Santos which won't be too vital now.

Polished off Santos in final group game as a nice warm up.

2nd round of Libertadores saw us draw Atletico Nacional from Colombia. 2-1 win in the home leg followed by impressive 3-0 away leg saw us safely through into the quarters.

Quarter final opponents are Cerro Porteno of Paraguay. They look tough on paper but I've fallen out of my chair when we are 4-0 up at halftime in the away leg

The resultant 6-1 win saw the papers declare that our campaign would end in glory.. Natch. That usually spells the end of any continental campaign!! But I said we aimed to conquer South America anyway. Give the lads some hope I say!!

Cruising in the useless State League which is running at the same time. 19 games in and still no losses. The undefeated streak is now 95 state league games and counting... I wish the National League was so easy

0-0 at home in second leg of the QF so we cruise through. We lost 2-1 away to Chivas in the first leg of the semi-final.

Finished off the State League to secure that title with 2 wins in 3 days, then 2 days later had to front up againt Chivas in the second leg of the Libertadores semi-final (My ever-present keeper has now made 34 appearances and the 27 game National Division 1 has not started and we haven't played a domestic cup game yet!!)

We held them out and took a late late equaliser... little did I realise away goals mean nothing and it was going to penalties...

Of course we f@#*ing lost the shootout (That person who suggest the game is biased against LLaMas with penalty shootouts was 100% correct!! )

Oh well, my Libertadores dream is over for this season

Have 2 cup competitions now to fill the gaps until the National Division 1 starts. There is no rest in Brazil!! Win either and I have a ticket to the Copa Libertadores next season.

Unlucky . Don't have to do too much better to win it next season though .
Typical that when you want away goals to count, they don't ...

I never realised there were so many games to play each season in Brazil ...

Yeah its never a dull time in Brazil. You get a couple of breaks that are maybe a month. No real off-season to speak of because of the number of competitions. And I gather SI left the less relevant and more obscure ones out! It's great to play in CM for that reason

Wow. Tough break. At least you don't have a whole off-season to sit there and think about what could've been.

No, I've already bowed out in group stage of the Champions Cup and semi-finals of the Brazilian Cup. Promising start to ND1

Bored in Germany? That's a league I can get sacked in repeatedly. Usually for financial issues. I've played Eintracht Frankfurt twice and failed miserably both times. Just miss promotion, and then you have a giant red hole where your bank account used to be.

Anyway, good to see the author is off to such a promising start this season. Take the ND1 by storm. KUTGW

Good stuff as ever Jraldous. I think I'll give this league a crack sooner or later.
