Am I the only one that doesn't use this function? I am nearly totally dependent on my Scouts to find players. The only exception to this is any news items which come up. If someone is meantioned I can then send my scouts off to see what he is like. Loans are in the same boat. The only guys I can get in on loan are players that are on my shortlist.

I'm know I'm in the minority with being this zealot, but is there anyone else who is a member of this splinter group?

I'm similar, Taipan. I only use the player search for loan signings. For buying players, my scouts have to have spotted them, and then my best scout checked them out individually (when i have the luxury of more than one scout, obviously ). The only exceptions are whn someones had a blinder against me, or the type of player i'm after appears in the news section.

I used it during my early days. Now I keep the use of it to a minimum, such as when I am missing a goalkeeper and the scouts don't find one

If I have time before the end of the transfer window, I scout him or offer him a trial, otherwise I take a chance on being sacked.

No wonder I was doing so atrociously when I last attempted to play CM!

Nice Thread CJB I also have the guinea pig and he is a half decent conference player i found him for free im leigh rmi and in 3rd after 13 games hopefully will do ok.

Hehe, I got 12 players as well.. The worst thing was 6 of them was Goalkeepers!!!!
