As I said, they are under no obligation, IE there isnt some ruling meaning they have to release one. Try and think about what you're saying before you type |

nothing wrong with the game why are being promised a patch ASAP?? Not moaning but if you brought a car got on the drive way and then told you'd have to wait for the engine you thoughtd you'd got and told to just live with a botched engine would you be happy???
| OK, if you would like to make a comparison to a car, then we will. The problems that I am reading about are the equivalent of the glove box not opening, or the seats not reclining ALL the way back. The cars still drivable. :cool:

The answer is no, these companies would learn from their early mistakes (that is learn from multiple mistakes), and not release a game like FM 08 that has been released way way to early. These companies would not do this year in year out. A one off granted.
I am not a hater, but just feel that this game has been prematurely rush released.
| Actually before Medieval War 2 CA and their publisher (can't recall who it was right now) let Rome Total War go for months if not a year before it was playable. It was only patched to a playable state when Sega bought the game and yet released a patch for a game they did not publish.
Doesn't sound like CA learned from previous mistakes but more like Sega stepped in and did the right thing.

In a perfect world! I have been playing this game since the original CM when Danny Murphy and Richard Wright were the 'Wonderkids' and it has been the same with EVERY release, some worse than others. It is simple really; don't buy the game until the 1st major patch is released. That is the ONLY way to stop it. It is not just SI neither as the others who owned the rights to CM/FM before SI/Sega did it too. I also do not agree that the game was unplayable and no, I am not a SI sycophant!

I'll be totally honest. I have not installed any of the Beta Patches as i want to wait for the full one. The thing is I am still playing the game and doing well with Barnet. 3 season in and challenging for promotion from League 1. Yes i see a few silly bugs but PERSONALLY (maybe lucky) i have not had such a bad time of it yet. I don't like the skin mind you but i am using a different one anyhow.

Have owned every football and hockey game SI have made (including the original Cm - fake players, barnet quickstart, and nightmare new game set up times), and since we've had the match engine patches have been an issue. Yes its cheeky as hell that software developers seem to use patches as method of copy protection, and really annoying with no broadband. however, SI, unlike so many others, at least seem to accept their responsibility, and are one of the few developers that will even get into such a whiney 'are we there yet?' discussion on a forum.
---with the licensing issues with EHM 2007 it took them a while to allow some flexibility, but once they had done that I got a personal e-mail address and issue resolved within a couple of days via an internet forum..and it was a problem that wasn't their fault. Which i think is pretty f*£&ing cool as it goes, and if only my broadband providers gave a damn in the same way.....

Haha what makes you so sure. Name me one other game that has been so bug riddled where you have to wait weeks to play it to HOW IT SHOULD play.
</BLOCKQUOTE>
Every game that has had a patch released for it, rather obviously.
