If a person bought FM 2008, but did not have internet access, how would they get updates or critical fixes...

| How would they get updates for all their other software / windows etc ?
Its a valid enough point but in this day and age the internet is standard for most people and if I didnt have the internet Id get a friend to download it, go to an internet cafe or something.

i hope the only promise si can make is to move the series on and introduce some new fresh ideas that isnt just a re-hash of things previously in there
do something unqiue and inovative that would make me excited once again to buy the game, instead of thinking,oh here we go again
i could cope with another cm4, aslong as u do something as masterstroke as introducing 2d pitch, something on the same level into FM, yes it was ambitious at the time, and the game was buggy in cm4, but just look at it now, alot of the manger games follow the same idea along the 2d pitch
please please please..
ive not bought fm2008, first time since 96/97, but i just wasnt impressed with the demo...fm2007 lives on

One thing strikes me as a little strange...
SI release a game, which so far has needed 2 beta patches, and we are still waiting for the final patch (Im not bitching or moaning). So i think we can all agree that the game is not correct even after 2 beta patches, so this must leave a certain percentage of people unable to play the game as it is should be played... seems a little unfair to me...
Im not to sure how internet cafes work, are you allowed to download things from the web, do they not block you from doing this incase of viruses and other such things....
I seem to remember a few years ago, SI gave away discs with an update or patch on, I wonder if they will do the same again..

can si promise not to release 09 in the same bug ridden unplayable state that 08 has been released in? almost everyone on these forums agree that 08 was virtually unplayable until the patch was released, and even now it is still far from perfect.im not alone either in thinking that some of the changes that were made were purely cosmetic and didnt need changing.we all pay decent money for the game and i dont think its being unreasonable to expect the game to be perfectly playable on the day of release.ok i maybe expect a couple of things may need to be patched but not in the way that 08 has been. 08 has been a disaster from the day it was allowed to be released in that condition.so how about it si any promises?

They can't promise jack ****. They have taken our money and are laughing. The lack of SI UPDATING us on when this new 'patch' will be ready (that we shouldn't have to wait for after paying full price) has persuaded me to boycott any future SI / Sega releases.
I am not going to buy F(orever)M(uddled) 2009 for love or money.
A product rushed out, to gain a quick buck.
Shocking. </BLOCKQUOTE>
then **** off these forums you're doing no good to anyone. fm08 isn't unplayable and the patch is being worke don please stop with the /cry threads please. i want to talk about the game not 'OMG it was rushed off the shelves' or 'OMG I'm never going to buy FM again'
great.. have fun with the 'amazing' CM and the utterly realistic Fifa Manager

Unplayable? Have I bought the wrong game? I'm just started my 5th season and can't see anything wrong. I've never had no fixtures, transfer values seem fine. Mind you, I tend not to come on these forums, and it's only when I do that I read about these issues. Having come across none yet as far as I'm aware, may I thank SI for providing me with a great game. As for the rest of the moaners, maybe enjoying life more will put the patch of a fantasy football game into perspective. |
