Haha what makes you so sure. Name me one other game that has been so bug riddled where you have to wait weeks to play it to HOW IT SHOULD play.
They will have a shock, there are more disgruntled (ex?)fans than you think.

Stalker?
Psychonauts?
Most Paradox games?
World of Warcraft?
The Orange Box?
Most games go through patch cycles.

Heres just a few :
Hidden & Dangerous
Championship Manager 5 (they gave up)
Medieval Total War 2 ( only 2 patches and never resolved siege problems)
Gears of War (PC) (Crash crash crash)
Some of those were never playable let alone fixed like FM08 will be.

| Because there are always disgruntled (justifiable or not) players who go on about this every year - and still come back only to fall into this self-perceived trapdoor.
You've made your complaint - you think the game is rubbish - thats fine. So why continue to post after lodging your protest?
If you are here to critize but are willing to see if the game improves to a standard to your liking, then I fully understand but you've already stated that you are not going to buy FM09, so what possible reason is there to stick around?
Why not take the game back and get a refund if it is that abhorrent and spend your days that little bit less carefree, comforted in the knowledge that your miserable experience with FM is behind you and you can eagerly look forward to new horizons, new interests, life.
Life without that cheap little video game that many people worked hard on to try and provide you and other consumers with many, many hours of entertainment.

Sirloin99 + Jam Man - The games that you have mentoned above, do they release a 'new and better version' year after year?? And year after year do we have to wait days even weeks for patches for FM 06, FM 07, FM 08?? (FM 09, FM10??) The answer is no, these companies would learn from their early mistakes (that is learn from multiple mistakes), and not release a game like FM 08 that has been released way way to early. These companies would not do this year in year out. A one off granted.
I am not a hater, but just feel that this game has been prematurely rush released.

I never had any problems at all with stalker. Never had a crash, never seen any bugs, everything was smooth.
@Silver Foxx - Will SI giving "updates" on when the patch will be coming make it come any faster?
What is the point of asking?
You know a patch is coming, they have released 2 versions of the patch in "beta" (so they can avoid the long testing/QA process that all release patches on ANY game go through).
How is making thread after thread about it going to help anything?

This is in no way intended to be sarcastic, although it may sound like it, so stick with me..
When i buy FM or any of the games you mention in previous posts, should i expect a game that is not ready, or is in need of minor / major patches to make it playable?.

For the likes of Silver Foxx,
At the end of the day you are the customer, and have a right a) vent your opinon and b) not buy the game.
If you are correct then there will be plenty of b)'s next year and we'll get what is coming to us.
In the past we have had worse reactions to our games than this year yet still the sales figures have backed us up. All we can do is try to make the best game we can and see what comes from that.
But as a few have pointed out already, does it really need multiple threads saying the same thing? I sometimes think the negative threads have the effect of putting other people off the game needlessly, which I dont like. After all, everyone who bought the game had a chance to try the demo first......if they thought it was pants they wouldnt have gone and bought it surely?

@ davidbowie - It would help, and this has been pointed out by scores of people on a rough time line. I don't expect or want SI to say a day/date, that is not fair and not right. I can fully understand that they are taking their time and getting this one 100% right (or I hope) Yet as the scores of people have again pointed out, the (rough) time line of a 'few weeks' is up, and we have not had an 'update' since. 'Sorry guys we are working our butts off but we cannot meet our desired deadline of a few weeks' or 'Guys we are still trying to get this patch 100% correct, give us a week/ a few weeks/ even longer to get this right'
That is the type of update I mean, not a direct day. I think it would appease a situation that is getting more and more frustrating.
