My Leeds team is achieving over expectation, my signings are agreed to be excellent - but I lost in the 1st round of the JPT (bad refereeing, the League agreed!). Do you think the board will let it lie? Every Monthly report they bitch on about it "wont be tollerated in the future" - jeeze!. Im pretty sure Mr Bates would not give a stuff if the Lilliwhites were in a promo spot & looking good. Sort it out SI!
I have just finished a full domestic season unbeaten apart from a quarter final league cup loss and the Board every month for 9 months mentioned it. That is pretty unrealistic

Well like I said, they just aren't over it. And in fact, I assume there aren't any new issues to talk about. To add to that, they are just reminding you not to make it happen again. Now I know it gets quite irritating , but we've got to move on lads.
I've always ignored that warning for several seasons now by intentionally getting knocked out of league cup/ FA cup in the early stages. They'd whine about it for a looong time but they'd still hand me new contracts every year or 2 (for 2 or 3 years extension).
All AI teams would file strongest squad to play those trophies; I'd just throw in my youth teams to play.
It means nothing anyway if you can achieve the long term goal and winning the league.
I hope they really fix this because since when that all big teams care about the league cup?

As I believe has been said before, the board summary lists the thing with the highest bar, and the thing with the lowest bar. Unless absolutely everything you have done is above average, there will be something negative listed. It will have no effect on your overall performance, and, for the board to be mentioning it for nine months only suggests that you haven't done anything worse, which is surely a good thing.
The board summary does not represent how the board feels as a whole. So it doesn't matter that the board are disappointed - they're not.
I lost 1-0, an incorrect penatly decision, to Arsenal( who were 1st in the Premier League) in the 3rd round of the FA Cup during my first season with Peterborough and I was unbeaten in the league that season. The fact they reminded about it every month for the rest of the season was a bit out of order so I'd like a 'Beat board to death with blunt object' option in FM09.
