My main striker has just decided to go on a downer.

Yakubu's morale just turned to 'very poor' just a few weeks ago & but i've no idea how to snap him out of it, and since this happened - he hasn't scored.

There are no clues to why. His fitness is good.
He's had a great season (we've won the league with 3 games to go).

His happiness is fine.

He's happy with training schedules etc etc.

Should I just give him a rest anyway???

Stop playing him for one or two matches.

You can also try to raise his morale through player interaction. Choose the right line to say to him based on his recent form and his morale will go up again.

staying with player interaction, try giving him a rest fro a week. i sent a player on a weeks holiday once, and he started scoring almost straight after his return.
