UI and keyboard control

Not sure if this really belongs in GQ, since it's not entirely skin-related, but while Ter's picking our brains on what we like and dislike about the interface here seems a good place for it...

In future versions I'd really like to see much more widespread (and co-ordinated) availability of keyboard shortcuts - at present what is obviously accessible from the keyboard and the choice of keys used seems rather haphazard.

If possible I'd like to go further and be able to specify keyboard shortcuts within the skin or in a separate config file - a keyboard config file would be easier for users and would allow use of the same shortcuts across different skins, but linking them to specific buttons and menu items in the skin xml seems far more viable.

Thoughts?

Quite. They're hardly obvious. If it helps, the ones I've come across for FM05 are:
- Space: Continue, or Pause/Play during a match
- Enter: 'OK' in dialog boxes
- F1: News screen
- F2: Search->Players
- F3: Search->Scouting
- F4: Search->Staff
- F5: Search->Shortlist
- F6: Squad->Players
- F7: Squad->Staff
- F8: Squad->Transfers
- F10: Squad->Fixtures
- F11: Squad->Information
- F12: Game Status

I'm sure there are others. Not knowing them is possibly my own fault for not remembering why the game manual isn't in the DVD case (and therefore where I put it down).

Indeed. This is something we will be doing at some point.
