you can't. it's resource-hungry. buy more ram. buy a better processor. ram isn't expensive. i have 1gb ram, 2.2ghz processor and i can load in 20 secs, save in 20 secs.

but a wee tip if creating players - never create a player with a filter on, ie day you're creating John Smith and have checked to see if John Smith already exists by searching 'Smith'. Only create a new player if ALL players in the db are listed in the player list window. If you have filtered the list by searching for a name, it'll take far longer to work.
