I won the premiership with liverpool my first season without much trouble until the very end, man u snuck up on me...

this season, using the same tactic and a stronger side i'm floating around 5-9th into january now... i wonder if the AI has caught on, or just bad luck?

this happens to me (well it used to) so now i just change my tactics every season.

I don't use the same tactic in the same game!

I'd check the re-ranking discussions in the tactics bible and the theorums threads. Sticky at the top.

Personally, I play what I consider my "normal" tactic then change it as the need arises. A bit narrower if the opposition are coming through the middle, a bit wider if I can't break them down, less attacking if I've scored etc.

You can use the same base tactic, providing it's strong, for a long time, I've found, providing you're willing to change the team instructions to suit the opposition.

Yeh i think a lot of oldskool guys dont get the new style of 07, 1 tactic for this 1 tactic for that dont get you nowhere these days, they way to get success is hands on approch, no more setting off the match going making a cuppa tea and comming back to a 4-0 nil win ( yes si i know you have been watching me play 06 hahaha)

We have to make changes ingame now, the ai is playing against us all the time, more activly looking for ways to beat us, so little changes here and there are needed in every match, winning or losing.

i´ve been playing with the same tactic with my team Osasuna (I´m Basque so...) for 5 seasons now and it still works: RoT-away. After three season I got problems with re-ranking but all I had to do is shift to Rot-home and no problems. I won the champions league and the Spanish cup last season .I haven´t been able to win the league yes, I always come second after Barcelona or Madrid or Athletico Madrid... that ****es me off..

thats right i am old school, i set the match off and browse the web and then make adjustments at halftime then at 70ish minute mark if needed... i have made up about 4 tactics now....

i was just wondering basically if the AI catches on to you, or if the game just requires you to pay attention during the matches now

No. I have been using the same 442 diamond setup for 3 seasons now, and it's still as good. It's safe; I don't win by many goals, but I still usually win. My squad is good.

The AI doesn't "sus you out" per se, but it does change it's style to counter yours. So, if you're in the lead, fall behind, change your reputation, it's likely you may need to make small adjustments.

Usually it's only with the team mentality sliders if you have a solid enough tactic. Occasionally you may have to change your shape, but I find that's rare.

well i played a 442 all 1st season and dominated until the very end.. 2nd season i was floating mid table and i made a new 41221 tactic and i've shot up the table.. so it just seemed like thats what happened but it coulda been a simple case of bad form.

cant win them all, obviously. game would be boring then
