and yes, you have it set up right, although I would not trust Gilberto to do the job there.
Spikester—you have a point there mate. Pirlo is certainly one of a kind midfielder. It's not often that you find a defensive midfielder that plays in front of the back 4 in almost a free role. Similar players though are:
Tugay
Arteta (can be trained to play there)
Carrick (brilliant in that position. Ideal)
Denilson from Arsenal (potentially)
Ballack
Lampard (trained)
Gerrard
Alonso
Ivan Campo
Emre (trained)
Paro (Juventus)
Maduro (Dutch team somewhere)
* I am not sure whether all are suited to a free role. It works for Pirlo and Arteta, but I haven't tried it with the rest.
You are basically looking for high:
passing
creativity
first touch
technique
decisions
long shots (bonus)
dribbling (extra bonus)
flair (super bonus but not vital)
pace is not important and he doesn't have to be THAT fit.
Outside of England I am not aware of that many players who fit the bill, but I am all ears if you have any suggestions.

| Yeh i noticed the mistake when i put gilberto in that formation and then started to apply the instructions, no way would i let gilberto loose with all the cf so i did exaclty what you mentioned stuck fabregas on dmc retrain, but anyway it dont matter because when you upload the real deal ill download that and start a new game, all i wanted to see what 100 passes which i got without even trying, but i have never seen that once in many seasons of football manager, im not saying thats what makes this tactic, but it is quiet unique in its own special way.

in 06 theres a guy called ale who had 20 long shots ace dribble and all the rest of the stats required for a good dmc, i used to buy him all the time, he could run at the whole side all day long and still keep the ball loved him, not looked for him yet in 07 but id imagen hes still Quality dmc player

I really hope the tactic is uploaded soon. Don't want to annoy you bean feast, but I just can't wait to use it with Milan and watch Pirlo and Kaka play brilliant!
Also, you said at the start that your striker doesn't score. Have you tried tinkering with the settings for him to see about getting him to score more. I mean Gilardino should be scoring more?

Henry got 2 for me in 1 match, and i just wacked all the mentalitys on willy nilly to see the formation at work, so yeah i bet you could easly get him scoring, i think the idea is tho to make you favourate players get the glorie, in this case pirlo and kaka, i mean in my arsenal games i always try to get rosicky to be our ronaldiniho and fabregas to be my scoles. more fun that way |

no idea how you can get 100+ passes on one player, I played 4 seasons now after the patch with ajax, and using maduro as playmaker..hes getting 50-60 max.
