Well reading the notes from the posts above my last, I concocted the following formula:
Favourites -> BG: We can Win -> -3 Angry
-2 Disapointing
-1 Thrilled
0 Encourage
+1 Encourage
+2 Pleased
+3 Pleased
+4 Thrilled
Underdogs -> BG: Wish luck -> -3 Angry
-2 Angry
-1 Disapointing
0 Disapointing
+1 Encourage
+2 Pleased
+3 Pleased
+4 Thrilled
Wildcards:
1)Have faith if playing a youngster
2)I want to see more from you (if available at half time)
Results:
Pretty mixed if I am honest. It would seem to be working, and then i'd be clear favourites against a much lesser oposition, tell the side that they can win and find myself a goal down at half time with no where to go. I've also noted that my AM report never gave a bad reaction, except occasionaly said that a couple of players where 'demotivated, but looked delighted' when I used the same Before Game teamtalk a few times in a row. What on earth does that mean? How can he be demotivated but look delighted about it?
I also tried to play around with individual settings a little. My GK for example often was demotivated, but delighted, so I tried him with the different individual settings but couldnt get a reaction from any of them. But at least he wants demotivated anymore, even if he did look delighted about it!!
I think the media before the game might play a big part as you suggested, and might be why I seemed to be getting somewhere only to lose a game I should have won easily.
