Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default CM1 - FM2007 4-4-2 experience

I`ve been playing CM (FM) since `93. I managed to create a tactic for all the series (CM 1 to FM 2006) wich i could use for any team in any league and every match. Even won the champions league with Darlington. Never have i experienced such difficulties with my tacticts as in FM2007. All credits for the SI team !
After reading all the post about the tactics i think i`ve managed (finaly) to create a tactic that works, atleast for me than. What seems to be impossible is to create a tactic that works for home and away matches, so actually i created 2 tactics. It has simularity`s with the RoT ,5x5 and Minimal from Fuss. Since i do not have the time for real testing (14 years of playing CM is getting on my wife nerves), maybe your interested in helping me out.
The reason that i decided to post this tactics is that i felt that in all the previous CM/FM series everybody was capable of creating a winning tactic. In FM2007 i think that`s not the case. I`ve feel sorry for the people that never played the game and decided to buy this one !

Allagash 4-4-2 away v1

PS: I`m dutch, so excuses if the grammar isn`t 100%.

Seen as you have been playing cm/fm for so long you will also know its still early days for creating all out winning tactics, the games been out what 2 weeks after the patch, lots of people are just getting to grips with the new aspects of the game (oppersition instructions personaly i havent even used them yet), but i gurentee that it wont be long before people are pumping out winning tactics again, and if there is more patches which iron out anymore bugs (which i cant see myself) then tactics will only become easyer to develope.

So dont be to upset just yet, if the new relase is comming out in a weeks time and where still in the same position, then its time to worrie.

They should keep the A1 as it is. I like the challenge. You should no that all the other series where much easier. Or i1m losing my touch, i`m not getting any younger

I'll certainly give it ago after I've finished the season with my tweaked version of Crazy Gra's tactic (which is the best I've tried post patch so far).

No, you're right. This is the most challenging CM/FM ever. It's not only that one good solid tactic will not work home and away but also that what you say at half-time can wreck any tactic no matter how great it is. I still do my own team talks but there have been times where I've seriously considered getting a 20 Mot. ass.man.
As for tactics, I use the pre-set 442, tweak it a little before each game. Doing very well so far.

just curious, anyone tested my tactics ?
I think all the other influences such as team talk , training, morale of players and how you handle the media makes it hard to say which tactic will work, or doesn`t work.

I tried your tactics and so far I've gotta say, its doing you justice.

First game I tried it was away at Chelsea, and to my surprise we completely ran them ragged. Would've been 3-0 if it weren't for a somewhat spirited attempt to comeback by one of their brazilian regens. I ended up winning 3-2 but even still, the scoreline could've and should've been far worse for them. Anyways, I am playing as Man Utd, but with your tactics I'm winning convincingly, dominating from start to finish, this IS including away games which surprises me most. So far I haven't been able to find a tactic that brings me continuous wins, usually I have to switch away tactics every few games... until now.

Looks like you might have something here.
