It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

if you do 1 touch passing, the build up is naturaly slow as your stringing loads of short passes together to get up the field, if you have slow tempo with 1 touch passing you are stringing like 50 passes just to get from 1 side of the pitch to the other, ok its not really 50 passes but its a hell of a lot, thats why you want to speed up the tempo a bit more then normal, so you actully make a fair few chances in the game, other wise your just passing it around, another way of time wasting good when ur ahead in a match and the other team is sitting back but dont hold me on that.

actully this topic is a god send, i have a question i need answering for passing so here seems like a good place.

i have 2 creative mcs who also have defensive dutys so are a fair gap away from the next player, now my quiz is if there on short passing about 2-3 would they attempt the pass anyway or would they not pass, and run into space which is what i want, i dont want them to pass just because its an option, i like to see them run into the space then pass when they cant get any further, i was always tought this in school always run into the space then pass. So any ideas how to get this to work with 2 mcs would be cool.

Yeh cleon i should be picking it up now, i have played this game so much it should become second nature before long, my back ground on fm/cm, its quiet embarrasing really i have played nearly every version but never had the patiance to sit and make a tactic, i was more a download tactic and buy good players type gamer, in the last version i had a quick go at making a tactic but got frustrated and its a bad and good thing but i downloaded a tactic, bad thing is it was so good i never had a tactic like it before it won me everthing, and the guy who made it tought me a lot, the good thing about that is he has give me insperation this time round to make a tactic otherwise i would still be downloading and picking players, now football manager isnt the same for me i cant belive all this stuff i have just missed out on for years.

Sorry for the speach but i think its owed for the help i have recived to explain a bit about my back ground

i love making tactics especially ones that accomodate the players i have. i will give the tempo a chance on slightly higher, currently im playing with the slowest tempo, it works decent, ive been winning, but i just havent won the most important cup even after 2 years and still am struggling with the biggest team on earth.

Id say they would pass it backwards rather than forward. Especially with it being 2-3, if it was 5-7 then maybe a forward pass might be attempted. They would only move with the ball if you have instructed them too. Alternativley they might move with the ball if its set to mixed, as then they use their own judgement and if moving forward with the ball was a better option that passing back, they would move forward with it.

cheers. it did work but mc running at defenders dont work as good as i wanted, so instead i think ill go for a mixed passing deep sitting mc who can pick passes better then running at defence, but thanks anyway

What happens if you put the passing slider on 0?

Or is 0 infact 1?
