I have been playing FM since cm9798. I own every game including FM 08 and have played an throughly enjoyed every game.
But as i have got older I have found (like other people im sure)that it is harder and harder to get the hours into the game that i could when i was 13.
I got FM 08 for Xmas and have been dipping into it for a month now completing 2 seasons with barely any success with Wednesday before getting sacked.
So this being my First free weekend session i thought id start up a new game and have a real good go at it.
I started a game with Leeds. I thought as they had reletive low expectations a decent squad and yet would be interesting because of the point deductions and their status. But i have found it impossible. Im losing to everyone getting stuffed by weak teams and losing 2 goal leads.
I have read every guide going and for the first time EVER I am considering downloading some tactics. just so i can have a nice little game going without having to work Full time at it.
what im really asking is :
is this game impossible to the casual gamer?
Is there something that I could be doing wrong ( a 'beginners' mistake) ?
Is there a basic tactic that i could adopted just to have a casual game as i carnt put the hours in i used to?
Is it even possible to play FM08 without putting 10 hours a day in?
Have you tried looking at some of the default tactics? Some of these can help you get started and understand some of the more complex instructions a little better.
Downloading tactics can have mixed results, but are worth a try if you're stuck.
This is my adapted Fiora2 themed tactic. Just pick the best players you think will suit the team instructions. Let me know how you get on after a season with it if you can. Heathxxx Fiora2 Variant (4-4-2)
