I find this is a form of cheating. It's put in by the programmers to gain results for the AI.

You cannot stand up to it, neither can your team play it. If you try and play it you will lose more than you win.

How many teams in real life play this at the end of games and consistently score goals?

It has just about cost me the league title at the end of the season. Grrrrh....

Forgot to add, they also tend to score after injury time has expired. I am 5 points behind, it should be 3 points going into the last game against the team above me (in a title decider).

Pretty easy to counter, I just go straight from the middle of them. They change to 424 and I can almost guarantee I'll score.

If you really think it's so good, why not:

1. Go into the editor and locate the team/manager that uses this tactic

2. Note down the settings

3. Use them for your own team

It's not cheating because you can use the exact same tactic. I have used it under certain circumstances and it can work a treat. It can however cause problems too. It's about when and where to use it.

Not aware that 424 is a preferred formation for any team, although Reading often use it for whole game.

The Top teams use more than just 424 when chasing a game, with rapid speed changes, yet we have to wait to make tactical changes, perhaps we should be allowed time outs.

I have twice used my own version of it to score last minute equalisers and only conceded once against it in my current season (which is the first season I'ver been 'playing' rather than 'testing'). It is not so hard to counter either. Bar the one match, I am about 50-50 in terms of scoring again against it-not conceding and seeing out the game.

i assume that you are leading the game by 1 goal...

play with 2 DM and have them close down whole pitch to stop all supplies from reaching the pesky attackers.

WB/FB should stop making forward runs and operate as defenders to help out in defense.
