Default Pescara CM3

A few of us still playing CM3 have set up a mini challenge and, to cut a long story short, I find myself at Pescara (Serie C1/B).

Why? Well, one of our self imposed rules is not staff or player signings in the 1st year (excluding loans) and Pescara have a big (if very young) squad and a reasonable number of staff. On the downside, the ground is large (high maintainance) and the wage bill is big.

The board expect a promotion playoff place, which I am currently acheiving (mid Dec) but they are only satisfied

Money is pouring out of the club so I need to sell my high earners (in excess of £10k a week :eek who fortunately are highly valued.

Whilst I have been posting updates in GQCM3, it would be more appropriate to put them here, which is where they will be going in future.

Ooh, this is 'weeman''s challenge right...!

Good luck, although surely you playing the LLaMa way will be a big disadvantage to the GPG guys who will sign all the 'cheats' when transfers are allowed...

That doesn't sound like LLM to me. We play the realistic. I see not being "allowed" to sign staff or players for the first season Un-LLM.

Unless, you are in debt and no one wants to sign for you that is.

So be it.

I did email him some rule suggestions which would have made it as LLM as possible - some of which he took on board. For example there are no background leagues so that should stop them signing players such as;

the completely made up Portuguese guy

and

the Greek striker that sounds like he's got a vitamin deficiency

I will play the way I enjoy the most (LLM). Just think how much satisfaction I will get if I win the challenge by playing it this way

Mods- if this sounds like a pre-emptive boast then feel free to edit it out

I agree, but it is for one year only, and I am prepared to make this sacrifice in the name of not feeling sorry for myself because I don't have CM4. I have another thoroughly LLM Brazilian save going on at the moment too.

Anyway, a starting squad of 48 players doesn't leave too much room for signings in CM3!

That Said magicman, if we are going realistic as possible, how many managers who are new in charge keep exactly the same setup? they bring in faourite players (if they can), squad changes and alomost certainly staff changes?

Hardly any i would say.

The Indispensible one's right. However, it's your game, play it as you will, don't tell us about it. Easy, eh?

I tend to evaluate the squad via a few games. It does take me half a season before I make any signings - unless I have decided on a specific formation, in which case I will sell the unnecessary players and bring in some backup.

This is LLM. We don't have favourite players. We completely forget them from one save game to the next

The Italian tranfer windows are a bugger an' all.
