I decided to go straight into LLM after I got the game, I liked the challenge in the last CM so I thought why not
First Season .. Crap squad, no budget and the normal problems, raided the transfer market for every free player I could find, but could only sign 4 verterns who was passed there prime, a young Portugal AM, a Educdor defender, a former Italy and Inter winger and a loan keeper from Southampton
.. Season started well, one of the verterns, a former Celtic and Portugal player, was on top form and shot my team to the top of the league, but it went down hill when fatigue set in, and my lack of squad depth was exposed. Managed to get into the 4th Round of the FA Cup though, where I lost 4-0 to Sunderland, but it brought in alot of revenue.. Finshed the season in 15th
2nd Season .. Went better, signed a few young players and released most the verterns minus the ex-Celtic man, Was a tough season and ended up 13th, scraped most my wins 1-0, even though I did beat Doncaster 6-0. My top goalscorer, a 18 year old freebie, only had 13 goals.. says it all really.. and Shrewsbury got relegated from the Conference
3rd Season .. My Educdor defender stared in the Copa America, and thus brought interest from all over Europe, didnt sell him though. My young Portugal midfielder also attracting interest from Everton and Arsenal after being my best player last season, again I didnt sell. So far, I'm 8 games into the season, and I'm 3rd. My record signing (and my only non-free signing) is in red hot form, currently scored 13 goals already, and has scored 4 hat-tricks in the last 4 games!! Ive signed a former Inter Milan winger from a Premiership team who won the World Cup with France, but he hasnt started playing his best yet.. My youth players that I signed back in the 1st season and 2nd season are starting to become stars, a young Nigerian defender is in red hot form in the defence with a young welsh defender
Hopefully my team wont self destructed like it did last time I was in the top 3 (back in Season 1) and that i've got enough depth to cope.
Hey Glos City, have you heard the rumours about us(FGR) signing a couple of your players - especially your speedy former Luton striker - although I think FGR is a little too far away from the local pub for him
I'm finding Northwich surprisingly difficult, considering they're a long standing and establish non league 'giant'.
No money, crap squad and a tiny stadium. Makes me glad I've picked them. I think people overestimate how good they are.
Have to say they're pretty fun in real life too, going to watch them play in an hour, tis a friendly club although I've been labelled a bit of a trouble maker by the stewards :o due to the fact that i'm with a group of people who like to sing and chant, which is just unacceptable really! I mean noise at a Football match!? who'd have thought it
I didn't jump on him, i wanted to know what people thought. Personally, if i was using player search, i'd still set the filter to UK only, but i know it's a gray area.
I've noticed there are alot of foreign freebies on player search, tend not to sign them though as I don't think they would sign for me irl, only go for them if they are immense.
