The idea of no player naming is that even though the player you name is well known to you, it might be not so well known to others. Also if someone sees player names, he posts some more & then it starts to snowball.

LLM is about discovering these players yourself using the scouts for what they were intended to do in th game. ie: recommend players to sign.

Any blind Charlie can take a team from the depths of LL to Europe if you sign know players/use someone elses tactic/use the search function.

I found CM3 to be a real challange because I stuck to the LL doctrine (plus more being a zealot). As you said "Previous versions of CM were not very challenging,", and the reasons above is most likely the why you found it that way.

3rd Season .. Was BAD, It went downhill very fast and I ended up in 15th place. 4 points from Relegation.. I had a clear out, 3 of my Vet.s retired including my ex. Bolton and France winger who I got free last season, and my ex Celtic and Portugal striker from the first season freebie buying spree

I released half my youth and reserve squad and went shopping once Bosmans came in

.. Signed a young NI winger from Spurs, and loanded a young midfielder from them aswell. My biggest signing ever though happened, I basically spent every penny I could wage wise to attract a released Newcastle foward who plays for Congo (Y'all know him) My wage bill is massive now, so I need success this season or else I'm funked

Season 4 .. I promopted a young CB from my youth team, and due to an injury crisis I had to play him first game, since then he's played every game and is blinding form. I changed formation and tactics, and re-did my starting XL .. and it paid off, I had a 6 match winning streak and I'm current 1st in the league, be it on goal difference with 2 teams on the same amount of points

But tradegy has just hit .. my record signing from Season 3, and my goal machine is out for a year with damaged crucitate ligiments .. and my first team defence, and back up defence are all current injuryed, so currently im playing a DMC and 3 youth team players in defence ... and Im losing too often, first team defence should be back by end of the month though

I'm out of the LDV (2nd round on Pens) and the FA Cup (1st round replay againsts Sheff Utd .. I got killed 4-1) .. so basically trying to win the league, if I dont get promoted this season .. the **** will hit the fan

UPDATE

Changed my tactic .. and signed a Belgium international AMC on loan from Spurs for 2 months, and I I started winning again, and moved from 6th to joint top

Was the closest title race I've seen in any CM or IRL .. 8 teams had the chance to win the league, and all teams in the top 10 had a chance for the playoffs .. and this is with 6 games to go! It went straight down to the wire. I was hovering around 5th and 4th, but beat Farnborough (top of league) 2-0 so moved into 2nd, then lost to Canvey Island (bottom) and slipped to 7th, anyway I was top with one game to go, drew that after they scored a last min goal, and I finished 5th .. GREAT end of the season

.. So now for the playoffs .. Just 3 games between me and the big time and the great achievement of getting Forest Green promoted after spending a total of 2k in 4 seasons!
