Please don't call them Bayern Leverkusen - they have nothing to do with Bayern.

Their name is Bayer 04 Leverkusen - while Bayer is the name of a huge pharmaceutical company located in Leverkusen.

KUTGW!! I actually played with Babelsberg in 01/02 and got CRUSHED...so you must be doing something right!

I'm curious to see how the game promotes German teams from the non-league area into the regionals after the season...I've only actually seen one LL stadium in my life, that being Ulm and would love to play them. 01/02 seemed to promote in alphabetical order..unfortunately. Keep us updated, please!

So thats what happened to Ulm!!

A friend of mine is from Ulm, and I visited her and passed the stadium once....there-in lies my desire to try and play them. So they actually have a bit of a higher-team reputation? Did they used to be regulars in the Bundesliga? If so, my annoyance at them never seeming to get into the regionals will have been cured!!

Are they banned from league play or something now?

Andreas, thanks a lot!! Now I have a better idea of whats going on with Ulm and the regionals...the beauty of forums and CM!

Just out of curiosity, is there a Swabian, big-league team that all the people in that area root for (like Bayern for the Bavarians)? Is it SC Frieburg? I only know a little bit about the german leagues, but every bit more makes playing in the regionals that much more interesting.

Thanks again for all the info

wow, sounds like tough going so far. The German leagues are notorious for a lack of funds in anything but the BIG clubs.

Maybe you'll catch form and hold on avoiding relegation.

Good luck!

I follow a bit of German football and i remember Babelsberg strarting really well in the second division, Chairman gave the manager a long contract and they did'nt win a game all season then! I think their star player was Rita Tushingham, Where's he now?

Yeah been a fan of St pauli since 96/97 season when i saw them play Leverkusen on TV.
They've improved a bit from that dreadful start they had.Not too sure if they can stay up though, they have quite a difficult run-in.
How are they financially? I hope they dont get bankrupt or anything if they do go down.
Every season 1 of teams that relegated from the 1.bundesliga always goes down to the regionaliga.FortunaDusseldorf,Uerdingen,Ulm,Unterh aching and a few more, and they usually go bankrupt,I hope Pauli dont go down but i doubt it.
