Default German LLaMa meeting

Well, you guys in England had your fun with Leigh, and I really think that's unfair

So, here's my idea:

Meeting in Munich (for me and alkinear, hope you read it , and for everyone else who might lurk out there within the city limits), visiting a home game of SpVgg Unterhaching  and drinking some Bavarian Wheat Bear afterwards, while discussing the hopefully fat goalies.

I'm (hopefully) in Munich for the Oktoberfest, can't you have it then?

Although I have the feeling beer may take priority over LLM that week, who are the other local Munich LLM teams?

hehe, depends on how low down the leagues you're intending to go.

Teams in Munich and surrounding satellite cities:

FC Bayern Munich (yeah, LLM in its purest form, see River Plate too)
TSV 1860 Munich (average Bundesliga)

SpVgg Unterhaching (Regionalliga South, that's already semi-professional)
Bayern Munich (A) (Regionalliga South too, lots of talents playing there, nice to watch, but not really LLM too).

1860 Munich (A) (Oberliga Bayern, see Bayern Amateurs)
FC Ismaning (Oberliga Bayern)
SC Fürstenfeldbruck (Oberliga Bayern)
Unterhaching (A) (Oberliga Bayern)
FC Falke Markt Schwaben (Oberliga Bayern, going to get relegated)

well, these are all the Munich teams in the highest 4 divisions. Pick one

I see two problems with St.Pauli:

1.) I don't think they're going to get relegated, they are on a run now and their form is improving.

2.) It's unbelievable hard to get tickets for them. Their stadium holds around 20 000 places and about 18000 people have season tickets. Usually the remaining 2000 tickets are sold to the visiting teams so they can sell the tickets on to their fans. The very few remaining tickets are then usually sold on the black market for horrendous amounts of money.

I'll let the beer goggles decide.

Can't be much worse than the Aussie match I saw last month - Marconi v Newcastle. At least they sold beer in the stadium which is always a good thing.

Brillaint idea Oliver.

Can we do one very very soon as in now because the Starkbierfest (strong beer festival for non Deutsche speakers) is on at the moment and that should not be missed!

Another option would be the Irish Rovers who play in a league of heroicly terrible proportions. They are an all English speaking team, so there should be no problems with them speaking a foriegn language. And they drink in my local mostly!

here is a link to there webpage...

http://www.munich-irish-rovers.de/

There's a fat goalie type in my office who plays for another tiny team, I'll try and find out some details from him.

If you want to make it during the Oktoberfest time we could probably see Bayern in action in the CL in the afore-mentioned River Plate vein.
If you can't wait 'til then we could have another during the 'Fest!

Whatever works is good for me. I'll be up for anything which does not coincide with my up coming nuptuals or honeymoon!

Oi DJ don't be so lazy get yer arse down here, the beer is better here and comes in bigger glasses.

Oliver - Do you live in the Munich area or what?

BTW I have noticed another living in Munich on the boards but he is not a Llama. Someone posted a thread about the best of another Forum or something, it might have been one of our American allies.

If you want to have a quick one, I'd suggest meeting this Saturday. Unterhaching will be playing at home vs. Bayern (A), so it would be a match between rivals too

The match begins at 2:30 pm, so we could meet before the match, watch it, and then visit one of the 4 great beercellars during the Starkbierfest.

Though I'd suggest not visiting the Augustinerkellar because there will be mainly homosexuals in it. I think the Paulaner-Keller would be fine, because it's quite nearby to Unterhaching.

Just tell me what you think about it
