Season 1 - 2007/08
Bath City - Blue Square South
Media prediction: 12th
Board: Safe mid-table position
I commit to top half finish
After an awful pre-season I get aprehensive, but the first game ends with a 4-1 win. We get to first place by the end of October. Due to a couple of injuries to key players I decide to play it safe, and bring in four players on loan in January. Loaned in explosive SC introduces himself by scoring 5 goals in his first two matches. We never look back and secure promotion with 5 games left, finishing with a 21 point difference from second placed Dorchester. Loaned explosive SC ends up with 20 goals in 12 appearances, and an 8.17

Season 2 - 2008/09
Bath City - Blue Square Premier
Media prediction: 22nd
Board: Try to avoid relegation
I commit to staying clear of relegation
Explosive SC doesn't want to return on loan. To an awful pre-season follows an even worse start of the season, and we quickly find ourselves in 22nd, as predicted by the media. First win comes after seven matches, and meanwhile our form slowly improves throughout the season. We even
get a shot at a playoff spot, but end up missing it by one single point. As a consolation, we win the FA Trophy the following weekend. Loaned in SC gets 19 goals in 24 games, and I want him back next season.

Season 3 - 2009/10
Bath City - Blue Square Premier
Media prediction: 11th
Board: Safe mid-table position
I commit to top half finish
Explosive SC is back on loan. When he is joined by last season's SC, I know for sure that we have the best striking partnership in the division. The season ends up being a real walk in the park, and we lead the league from start to finish. Promotion with 7 matches to go, finishing with a 32 point advantage to 2nd placed York. To top it off, we win the FA Trophy again and also add the Setanta Shield to our trophy cabinet. Explosive SC ends the season
with 61P 61G and the other SC with 64P 42G. The training facilities were upgraded, and the board accepted my request to further improve them, along with the youth facilities. I think this club is going places. Now I just hope that with £1.5M in the bank, I can finally have some transfer budget.

Enjoyed reading that. Hopefully I will try and follow the same path when I take over Welling United once the new patch is released. Good luck in League Two.
I don't know if it's FM2008 that is easier than the previous versions, but this last season was probably the best season I've ever had as a LLM (and I've been playing CM/FM since the beginning). I mean, a player scoring 61 goals in a season? Granted, he belongs to a Premier division side, but still, averaging one goal per match seems excessive.
Strikers seem to score a huge percentage of a team's goals; the league ended with nine strikers scoring 25+ goals. Even the last team in the division can easily have a striker with more than 20 goals.
The finances are quite secure. The club is profitable: in three seasons I went from a £1K bank balance to £1.5M, and the club's valuation went from £55K to £1.3M.
Right now I just want to consolidate the new league/professional status. Hopefully that can be achieved if I manage to sign my striking duo again.
