For him to not miss that often I recomend pushing defensive-training for strikers up to medium. He's overal the top-scorer in the EPL with 26 goals in 23 matches Big Grin

It clearly shows the so called "training bug" is just overreaction. </BLOCKQUOTE>
?? Now I'm confused. <_<
There's a training bug? All my training scheduals are working like a charm... it's just a matter of picking the right combination for your style of play =/
And people tend to ignore defense training for striker, but they fail to realise that certain aspects of defence training, such as decisions are ignored.
Still confused, but felt like posting some extra due to my previous post which contained pretty much the crappiest english ever written

First of all at the start of the game Rooney has not reached his potential and he is under 24, if his stats improve, it may not be due to training but purely natural progression.
Secondly, I am pretty sure decisions is covered by tactics training, not defending. If you meant concentration, I have tested in 07 that a striker with a concentration of 1 can score 30 goals in 20 games. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Actually if you look closely at the attribute page you will see that defensive catagory covers Decisions. At least that's what it says for me.
Second, half a season to reach his potential? err ok sounds awesome, but explain this.
Tevez has 18 goals in 23 matches and Campbell has 10 in 15 in addition Ronaldo has 12 in 23 and Saha has 3 in 3 (yeah I know, I should probably play him more often) Giggs has 7 in 23 and Anderson has 8 in 20.
I do see the point of them all being naturaly progressive, and I am sure that is part of the reason, but pretty much all my strikers are close to 20. I'm not saying my training schedual is awesome, as it certainly is lacking in some areas, such as goalkeeping and wingbacks training, but I am sure that it can't all be a coincident or natural progression.
Fm07 experience. Striker scoring rarely and skying it regualry. I could not grasp why. Bpught Owen (top scorer of league) noticed what stats dropped and noticed he too started to sky it a little too often. Put Defensive on Medium, Owen's stats became just about what they were. my strikers stopped skying it and both Saha and Rooney (Owen got injured for 6 months) ended the season with 40+ goals each, if I'm not mistaken I think Saha had 43.
But yeah, I tested the defensive training theory quite a lot before I came up with it. It's working like a charm for me and my strikers aren't blasting it over all the time, naturally it's a combination of all attribute training, but defending was the missing piece of the puzzle for me.
