I have a legal copy of Football Manager.

It's installed on my home computer. However, is it legal to login to my PC from another location such as work via a remote control software such as PC Anywhere, Logmein etc etc...

Just see if it works, i guess you'd have to have the disk in the drive of the main machine.

I would love to hear an argument FOR Pirate on this one. I am often logging into my home comp from work as it is the only way to get to things like IM, network games, etc. The game is installed in one place and can be played in only one place.

Perhaps trying a bandanna on yer head and an eyepatch and saying Arrr a lot. That might do it.

Of course it's legal, using remote access you're playing the game on your own PC with the disc in the drive.

What you can't do is give anyone else access to play your copy of the game.
Not that I think that's your intention.

Try it - if it's illegal you'll experience some of the anti-piracy bugs you've seen discussed on this forum

Erm....no. Only if he's downloaded the game or is using a no-cd crack, which he wont need for what he's explaining.

I know the CD will need to be in the drive and all of that, but just wanted to know, so that whilst I'm working 'hard' at work in the office I can have a play on Football Manager.

Is there anything in the EULA about this?

I mean what's the difference in me inviting friend over to play on FM whilst I go to shops or something and inviting someone to play the game on my pc from his house via remote control software?

The disc is in the drive, the software is installed on my pc..no copies or anything like that....

Technically its illegal, and thats very techinically.

Realistically its better than deploying it on 2 machines in the same house and thus is perfectly ok.
