Im playing the unpatched version of FM08 as Olympique Lyonnais.

I have encountered a problem with the foreign players in my squad. Fred has completed 1901 days out of 1825 days to gain nationality and under "days left" it say already eligible. But for some reason the letters "Fgn" are still next to his name so i have to leave some players out of the registration window due to the 4 foriegn players limit.

Also have this problem with Jefferson farfan, he's already eligible to live in Holland but he is still a "foriegn" player. Since Foreign is anyone that is not in the EU surely he is eligible to play as a non foreign player?

Wierd thing is, Cris who also plays for Lyon lived in france more than 1825 days and the "foreign" player status was lifted.

Is this a bug? Im pretty sure it has not been addressed yet as ive had a search around the forums

Maybe because Fred hasn't taken the citizenship. He is entitled to do so but hasn't chosen to. On the other hand Cris has taken his citizenship.

I see, is there anyway to encourage them to take the citizenship?

Ive just offered a new contract to Fred that is 4 years long so im hoping he will take the hint

Ah nevermind. It seems that he did take the hint and has just become a french citizen. Cheers
