Southampton, I think it was, scored 4 at Spurs the season they were relegated, if I remember rightly; and has already been mentioned there's the recent Pompey-Reading score.

Here's an equally smug question for you; What in any aspect of life, football, society, philosophy or anything else, says that that scoreline with those scorers couldn't happen?

I know, it gets hard. sometimes it's like the game's set to ultra hard difficulty or something.

I just want to win and have fun sometimes but i can't help but feel that the game is out to get me just suck it up and play...heh

What's even more annoying is when this kind of thing happens to a team who has the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo up front. Having 18-20 in every attacking attribute seems to be useless, they still put most shots wide/over. Ah well, nevermind.

This happens in real life all the time! Aston Villa 2 - 0 Chelsea, Valencia 0 - 2 Rosenborg, Lyon 0 - 3 Rangers, Liverpool 0 - 1 Marseille - it's not FM, it's real life! Take today’s UEFA Cup action - Bayern Munich 2 - 2 Bolton...WHAT???? How can freakin' Bolton (who are 19th in the Premiership) get an away draw against the mighty Bayern?? How can Spartak Moscow get 2 penalties awarded to them in the game against Leverkusen in the space 10-15 minutes??? What are the chances of that?

The bottom line is that if something weird, strange or just plain improbable happens in the real football then you just scratch your head and marvel in disbelief. But if the same or similar thing happens in FM then you feel somehow cheated, somehow deceived, and you come to SI forums to express utter anger and disgust for the game and its creators. In a sense, this behaviour is somewhat hypocritical and unjustified. And whilst I would agree that FM is not perfect, I do think that it stimulates the nature of football. The funniest thing is that if you watch postmatch conferences, you will see real managers making similar rants and whining in the similar ways to FM players. The only difference is that real managers cannot say that the game is `unrealistic`. Although, I'm sure that Lyon manager would have loved to use that excuse after Lyon were hammered by Rangers.

If you think FM is unrealistic, watch some football.

Are you telling me that a big club with outstanding players have more possession and more shots etc against a smaller club away from home will lose every time? Get a grip! At least irl they could do something eg tell players to stop shooting from long range but all my players will have a go even even their long shots is on rarely. Also whats the point on having stats for finishing when most of them cant

kingdalglish, dont waste your fingers typing on this forum, most of the people on here will defend this game if they are losing 20 nil every game, ive started 15 games so far and they all have been awful(and yes ive got the s***** patch)....im going to remove 08 from my laptop and delete everything, wait for a real patch and then install it
