im still running fm07, and i've just noticed that some of the players names have changed. oddly, ronaldo is now "jefferson" and owen hargreaves is now "christoper hargreaves", and there are plenty more ive found too...
ive checked the editor and they're all correct there. the game appears to have generated new WRONG names for a handful of players.
can anyone shed any light? is this SI telling me to but fm08?!

Is it a new game you're starting or are you carrying on with an old one?
If it is a new one you might have unticked Real Player Names but then I suppose all player names would be different. I'm not really sure though.

Did you have "use fake player" option ticked?

thanks! i have started a new game, but that's definately not what's happened. most names are correct, but the more im looking the more i find one's like "patrice eto'o"...

i'm wondering if i've somehow corrupted the database.
i do edit a lot, but like i say; they all appear correct in the editor...

FM-Kid: "Wow! That's amazing, I want him!"
FM-Kid: "What nationality is this Jefferson?
FM-Kid: "American?"
Announcer: "No... he's PORTUGESE!"
Patrice Eto'o.. sounds like you're getting star-names mixed up.
Patrice Evra + Samuel Eto'o = Patrice Eto'o
Ronaldo + Jefferson Farafan = Jefferson (I'd advice you to check Farfan)
Cristoph Metzelder + Owen Hargreaves = Christoph Hargreaves.
I think your database loaded wrongly and mixed up the names of players. Check Christoph Metzelder and Farfan to see if they are changed too.

if its all the same, i may not hunt down all the wrong names, or try and figure out a pattern :p
one that's wrong is enough really to bother me into not playing on.
